Their 100 bucks slop just doesn't sell as it should and it is unsustainable apart from Blackrock DEI investments and those with ideological interest in promoting this kind of slop.

The most expensive movie ever was Pirates of the Caribbean 4, and that only took 379$ millions. CONCORD was more expensive, the Spiderman games ate 300 millions on the license alone, it's completely out of control.

Cut the bloat out, while simple on paper, will never be done for the most retarded of reasons.

It is a hit-driven industry. Few % of games that become mainstream hits pay the bills.

Cutting the costs is counter-productive unless you are targetting niche with low competition - like hardcore realistic strategy or simulation with zero mainstream appeal.

Sony only owns the Spiderman license for movies they have to pay Disney for games/comics/etc. Sony even had to pay Disney a part of the profit when they sold a PS5/PS4 bundle of the console and the Spiderman games.
