The local polack contingent will shill anything ever vomited by CDPR, it's that simple.

As for actual Slavic games, we have

Tiny Serbia managed to pull off Underrail.

The best mighty Russia can do is Smuta.

Cool. Except: most of them aren't RPGs, and those that are, aren't recent.

So I decided to check up the CDPR forums. The rules are very strict on politics to keep away chuds, here is an example:
Keep in mind, real world political posts are NOT ALLOWED here on the forums - and never have been. When posting, please keep such topics and responses away. Thank you!
Yet, it's a dumpsterfire. Some forum lurkers keep pointing out the nonsense coming out of the company, quickly flooded by waves of fanboys trying to shun them.

The argument to save face is the number of sold copies and popularity of witcher franchise which propped up the netflix show.

Yet, here you are having the biggest knee jerk reaction of them all. One knee jerk reaction to rule them all.

You're not thinking critically about this but you want people to think critically about this. If you were thinking critically about this yourself, you would quickly come to the realization that there is nothing you can do about this. This is happening. Ciri will be the protagonist in at least one witcher game. If you want that to change for future games, vote with your wallet. If this isn't the company you loved anymore, they're rotten, etc then move on and don't buy their products A.K.A vote with your wallet.

You're only here stirring up drama. Even after @Draconifors gave you a clear answer that also had a clear message of "I'm not going to argue with you", you came back at him to try and stir up drama.

The majority is fine with Ciri and the majority has spoken clearly on that. Even here, for everyone of you against this, there were five of us saying were fine with this. CDPR, like every other company out there, is looking to attract new customers. If for you the simple fact they are making the protagonist a woman or them saying they also want to attract new players is somehow synonymous with leaving you behind then all you can do is get over it or move on.

CD PROJEKT RED

Our goal is to ensure that the game offers an enjoyable experience for both veterans and newcomers. If you’ve played our previous titles, it’s a fresh story set in a world you know and love, featuring all the elements you’d expect from us (gripping narrative, engaging and meaningful side quests with memorable characters and, of course, an effort to push the envelope when it comes to certain gameplay elements – more on that in the future, obviously). At the same time, for new players, it’s the perfect entry point. We have to remember that the last Witcher game was released a long time ago, so we want the new entry in the series to be accessible to gamers who haven't played the previous ones as well. Rest assured, we’re making this game in the true CD PROJEKT RED spirit, with all the qualities you’ve come to expect from us.
Strong resetera / Bioware forum smell leaking out of this.

Treating players with respect is one of the cornerstones upon which CD PROJEKT RED was founded. When creating our titles, we always give it our all in a bid to provide gamers with top-quality entertainment and best value for money they can get.

We are gamers ourselves – thus, we want to treat others in the same way we would like to be treated. We believe each gamer should feel that they are an important and integral part of the community built around the games we create – which is why we put big emphasis on engaging in open communication with our communities around the world. We analyze received feedback and take it into account when working on patches and updates for our projects.

They treat their fanboys with respect, which they cultivate on their CDPR forum. More critical people are quickly swept under the rug or have been responded like dirt. Sure thing, they like huffing their own fart.

The grim dark is really something though. Like, is there anybody who ISN'T a piece of shit in this world? How can a society like this even function?

The author seems to be aware of it too since this last story was about the futility of chosing the lesser evil in a world that's this shitty.
The people who aren't shitty are the ones getting fucked by the shitty ones, as usual.

More critical people

Crying and seething over the fact that Ciri looks ugly or that she is the protagonist (even tho she was in the books) is not exactly what I would define as "critical". It's just retarded.

So I fixed your sentence

More retarded people are quickly swept under the rug or have been responded like dirt.

Gotta say, it makes the look based.

If you think these measures extend only to that, think again. CDPR forums embrace toxic positivity.

He asked politely whether it was a good decision to include Ciri from a narrative point of view. Also CDPR ban on politics is especially dishonest since they are pushing politics into their games since the ESG video and even before.
