And did you try to come near him or even add him to a party (which of course didn't work for me as he blew the moment I've stepped inside the tavern)?

Yeah, I think I talked with him, and got the regular 'Hai, wanna join forces again, yes/no?' dialogue, but didn't add him to the party, because by that point I had Jan who was vastly superior both class and levelwise.

I remember last time I played I left him in the tavern, and he was still there when I got back from Spellhold.
Yep, me too. No exploding Yoshimo, only exploding bhaalspawn (in ToB, I think).

Obviously I'm not the only one who had that

Um, when you return to the Copper Coronet, after doing Brynnlaw and Spellhold without Yoshimo, he'll explode into bits and pieces.

Maybe they replaced that with joinable Yoshimo in some of the newer patches? I've played BG2 waaaay back.

Still non-talking Yoshimo instead of exploding Yoshimo without explanations is still lame.

EDIT: Also a few posts below you can see that there is a following console command in BG2
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ButtPluggingCumBubble","GLO BAL",1)

what

Definitely not. I've been playing BG2 without any patches each time.

Strange that Yoshimo is surviving for some people. I'm pretty sure Yoshimo -is- supposed to die (due to the geas on him) if you return from Spellhold without taking him. I would guess if he doesn't die, this is due to a bug.

Found this thread, which hints that yeah, there was a glitch (as well as an exploit) involved:

The bit about his Yoshimo disappearing in the fighter stronghold has nothing to do with Yoshimo, it has to do with the stronghold. Anybody else, or any items you left in containers, would've also disappeared. Fighter stronghold has at least two completely different maps, and if you leave stuff in one map when the conditions switch you to the second map, you lose it all.

Yoshimo is meant to die, and this is due to the terms of his geas, so there's nothing wrong with it. If there's a problem, its simply the engine/coding limitation that meant you had to witness him blow into chunks.

Just to get this thread a bit back on topic:

There's a new trailer for Dragon Age: Origins up at gametrailers.com

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09 ... mments_top

It is showing a Grey Warden saying things like 'in peace, vigilance, in war victory'

And why do this make me feel sad :( for this game :?: It is like they're making a game where you're playing an elite soldier like the Navy Seals - in a fantasy world nonetheless...

It could be Call of Duty 4: Attack of the Dark Spawn where you must rally the support of countries (towns in DA) to fight the evil (dragon) empires.

I know this trailer is intended to be attract the general audience; I do think they general audeince (the masses?) will be disappointed when they play the game, though.

My high hopes for this games just took a very deep dive :(

I also didn't like that one one bit. Maybe I am getting old.
