Which one was it for you? Mine was, surprisingly,a battle in icewind dale 2. I found it hard because my party members kept dying, though I could win it I wanted my party members to survive.

Dungeon Hack had some tough battles (especially since you were a solo character)

The 13 ghost fight at the end of the road to Sethanon in Betrayal At Krondor.

Jesus Christ, even after you apply 20 points worth of Skin Of The Dragon, the fight nearly manages to outlast that. Moreover, you'd probably have taken enough damage by the time everyone got Skin Of The Dragon. So you'd have to use Restoratives.

Ironically enough, I try to get the best items possible in Chapter 1 itself just to do that fight early on, but that level of preparation would exceed the actual rewards from it.

Also, some of the Nighthawk fights, which seemed fairly simple at first, until you realize that Nighthawks can respawn within the combat situation.

There were spells to wipe out their bodies completely, but that deprived you of the loot from them.

Bane Of The Black Slayers was really useful in these situations, so they could be killed instantly, and you could immediately take down the remaining Nighthawks.

The final fight in PoD. I still have yet to beat that one without 'cheating' and lowering the difficulty.

Of a more recent game, the final fight in MoTB. The entire game you have a party so I was more a support character, then I get forced to do the final fight solo (or mostly solo, as the red wizard came with me)?? What on earth???

Nessy from Wiz8. Not necessarily because I was a complete failure as a player due to my lack of experience, but because of my immense fear of giant monster that live in water. I seriously had to look down so that I only saw the UI. I couldn't look directly at the monster.

In BG 2 the fist battle against Irenicus in Sudalnessar, I had to pratically cheat to get past it.

The final battle with Saervok in BG1. That battle always kicks my fucking ass. There probably is some simple exploit or something, But I never found it. Nor I have read any guides for suggestions.

Ironically, before TotSC came out, the pre-patched BG1 with Saervock was a cakewalk. Just summon Kobolds, and they will kill him fast with normal missiles.

I played Wiz8 the first time just a month or so ago, right when I joined the Codex. I'm 20 years old. Yeah.

After TotSC you just summon as many critters as you can to keep everyone occupied, and then use Kivan to snipe the bad guy.

But without Kivan - no, I don't know what to do :D

Magic missile.

Wand of magic missile.

It's still a bitch of a fight, but that's how I managed.

Also, I never beat the final guy in Dungeon Master. Killed the dragon without any problems, but the guy upstairs was damn difficult. When I realised what I was supposed to do with the Firestaff I somehow lost interest...

The first time I came up against Kangaxx in BG2. I thought, oh a lich this shouldn't be too hard. Mazed/imprisoned (whatever that spell is) half my party and then raped the rest.

^This - instant death with no recourse. Then I got smart and fried his ass. :)

But allowing for replays / retries and STILL having problems - Eye of Beoholder final boss with a sorcerer and NO other players (this was a NWN community mod remake). Tedius as all hell, cast Improved invisibility cast a few spells, HP almost zeroed, cast invisibility, runa way, rest, and repeat x10.... Stupid tedious rather than hard actually....

I felt EXACTLY the same way. Still gives me shivers.

Fuckin' ay that one is impossible. I have only beaten it essentially with exploits that involve getting Sarevok to chase one guy in a circle while everyone else pelts him with magic arrows.

Hah, so I wasn't retarded as I thought for having trouble with Sarevok. I barely managed to beat him by filling up the room with summons. Thankfully I had lots of summon spells memorized and summon wands too.

That's how I killed Drizzt in BG1 without cheating. Summoned creature buffer and widdled his hp down with archers.

Thoughest fight I had?

No doubt Draconis from Throne of Bhaal.

Damn I had to reload like 30-40 times to get that fucker down. Rest of the game was piece of a cake.
