The Association seems to have a post in every larger town or city in the kingdom - does this not cost more than it earns?
trader.jpg
People must know that we are a reliable and solid organization - and they do not have to travel miles to trade. Nay, the profits are indeed higher than the costs.
hero.jpg
How many people work here?
trader.jpg
It depends, Samon Veller, our treasurer, is here most of the time. Unless he is occupied in the vault. The same almost goes for Talor Ravinard who currently heads the Council of the Association.
hero.jpg
Why only almost?
trader.jpg
He travels much - the Merchants Association is a huge machine that always need oil...
:what: Oil? I had no idea this world deals with that kind of commodity.
Oh well, it's time to speak with Samon Veller. I have a package for him.
10.jpg

11.jpg

hero.jpg
Who spoke of me?
trader2.jpg
Why do you ask this? I do not understand. Talor Ravinard HIMSELF asked me to keep an eye on you - YOU! Barely a member of the Association! Can you explain why you are of such a great import to him?
:smug: Maybe cuz I'm the only guy who gets shit done.
hero.jpg
Talor Ravinard?
trader2.jpg
Aye, the Head...the Leader... the ONE!

George Soros wants to keep an eye on you.

hero.jpg
Is this so unusual?
trader2.jpg
Aye, it has never happened in all my years here...
hero.jpg
Aye, whatever you say, friend... however. I just want my money then you will see me no more.
trader2.jpg
Wait! I may need you soon.
hero.jpg
And if I refuse?
trader2.jpg
I prithee, do not refuse. I have my orders. I must find someone both trustworthy and courageous. You seem to have half of those qualities.
hero.jpg
Oh aye? And which half, pray?
trader2.jpg
Courage... but our trust?.. that you have to earn!
hero.jpg
Hmph! And your unpopularity with the common people surprises you?
trader2.jpg
Hmph, he insults me! Do you not need this money? Trust me, if you come to an arrangement with the Merchants Association, it is the best!... if you prove your worth of course.

Whatever, I've had enough of this banal conversation. I walked out of their office and rode out into the night. If I recall correctly I need to talk to an Arch Mage about a certain magic mirror...

12.jpg

13.jpg

hero.jpg
Who ARE you?
white.jpg
Only a friend...
hero.jpg
I know my friends and my foes.
white.jpg
Are you SURE?
hero.jpg
What do you mean?
white.jpg
You have indeed learned a lot - but nothing of patience.
I can see the dev's face:
:troll: Listen to how vague I am.

hero.jpg
Aye and well met to you. Pray tell me, are you the mage who made a replica of Annon Moha?
mage.jpg
And if I am?
hero.jpg
I have to tell you that neither of them is happy about it.
mage.jpg
Aye, mayhap, mayhap... so he should have given it more thought... no one forced him to do it...
hero.jpg
Why did you do it in the first place?
mage.jpg
Why?... because we need good mages here. We had two posts to fill - so, instead of taking two lesser talents, we decided to make a replica of Annon - so that could take up both posts, understand?
hero.jpg
So why is it not to his liking?
mage.jpg
I have no idea - but I will not permit him to kill his replica - t'would defeat the purpose...
hero.jpg
Which of them is the replica?
mage.jpg
I do not know - there was no reason to tell them apart, so I did not bother which went whither... I want them both alive, hear? AND I want that mirror - if you obtain it for me, our two villages will have a mage.
04a.jpg

Uh...what an asshole.

hero.jpg
It is unjust... I mean, to keep the replica against the will of the real mage.
mage.jpg
But no one knows who is the real mage! 'Tis not natural, I grant you that - but 'tis for the good of all!
hero.jpg
Aye, but if the mage himself does not like it...
mage.jpg
Ahh, but which one is he...?
hero.jpg
If he is so good, why stop at two?
mage.jpg
Aahh. 'Twere that easy, we would build armies from our best warriors! Nay, the process is also very costly - and the preparations take months... even years.
hero.jpg
Is it lawful - to make a replica of someone, I mean?
mage.jpg
Mayhap, mayhap not... but name me a ruler who would object to two good mages instead of one, eh?

The argument gets nowhere. I decided to leave and think upon it some more. Mayhap there is a way to separate the copy from the original.

It's time to go shopping.

hero.jpg
I do my modest best... how fares Cathalon?
brother.jpg
The homeless stream into the city by the hundreds... but what is worse, the orcs prepare catapults to launch missiles against Cathalon from the opposite bank of the River Gon even as we speak.
hero.jpg
Will you attempt to destroy this menace to the capital?
brother.jpg
Aye, we will make the orcs think that this is indeed our plan. In the meantime, we shall try to stop the construction of the catapults in a different way.
hero.jpg
Oh, how so?
brother.jpg
Our spies have made a discovery of great import... the orcs have a problem... they know how to build the machinery...but they cannot implement a working trigger mechanism. This is the reason they try to steal our own triggers from Hadeborg Castle.
hero.jpg
I see... I would guess that all this information will eventually lead up to a request for my help?
brother.jpg
Aye... a troop of guards would arouse their suspicion, but Orcs will never suspect you... try to get to Hadeborg first and recover all our triggers before they get to them.
hero.jpg
I will be happy to help you in this honorable cause.
brother.jpg
A courageous reply!
hero.jpg
How many triggers are in Hadeborg?
brother.jpg
There are 3 in our biggest catapults - those that an Orc could fire - please bring all 3 mechanisms to me. A thousand gold pieces reward each. But I will only accept all three, however.
hero.jpg
That is a fair price. I shall give it my best attempt.
brother.jpg
Farewell to you, Mercenary!
10.jpg

11.jpg

12.jpg

hero.jpg
I know of no Rigwell. What does he want of you, pray?
dodo.jpg
He wants my arrows - and I have urgent need of his gold.. it's that simple.
hero.jpg
I see. So why the obvious delay in supply?
dodo.jpg
Women! I need dodo feathers for the arrow shafts and what happens? My wife will leave me if I kill those "sweet little birds". What a life! Could you help me, perchance?
:negative:This is probably the cuckiest excuse I've heard in RPG. 'Why don't you kill them yourself?' 'My wife would leave me if I do.'
hero.jpg
Your wife pushes you around a little, 'twould seem - 'tis not only your problem however... I have a sister.. aye, I will help you!
dodo.jpg
I thank you! The feathers of 5 dodos will suffice. May your aim be true.
13.jpg

So...seen any dodos?

Master of Mayhap
01.jpg

02.jpg

hero.jpg
Aye... Lokar Maios put a... a small mark on their necks... just to tell them apart, you know...
mage.jpg
Indeed? Will YOU be able to tell them apart?
hero.jpg
Aye, I believe so...
mage.jpg
Then take the mirror and give it to the real one. Be very careful! It must be the real Annon!
hero.jpg
I will do it - you are too nervous, apprentice. You must remain calm!

I brought the mirror back to the 'Original'. I had no way of verifying his claim, but I just felt like the choice is an unimportant one.

03.jpg

hero.jpg
I wish you good fortune.

The mage immediately snatched the mirror and invokes its power.

04.jpg

He didn't crack out a maniacal laugh, so everything must be okay.

hero.jpg
I take it you like it this way... as the only one, so to speak...
mage2.jpg
Having got rid of my worse... er... better... nay... same half? Aye, I feel much safer now... and I am grateful for your help.
hero.jpg
Can you not replicate the apprentice?
mage2.jpg
That idiot boy would collapse with fright...
hero.jpg
Aye, he seems a sensitive lad...
mage2.jpg
Sensitive, aye... but a splendid apprentice. Nervous, too... but if you had seen what he has seen, mayhap you would also be nervous...
hero.jpg
Farewell...

I deliver the good news to the apprentice.

05.jpg

06.jpg

hero.jpg
I lied - there is no mark on any neck...
:troll:
mage.jpg
WHAT?
hero.jpg
Neither you nor anyone else can tell the difference - therefore he is the real one!

I was expecting a meltdown. Instead...

mage.jpg
Aye...mayhap you are right... I should perchance act as if he were the true mage...

 WEAK.

hero.jpg
Mayhap he is... tho' mayhap he is not...
mage.jpg
HOLD! You confuse me! I am nervous enough!
hero.jpg
Farewell, Apprentice!
07.jpg

To my surprise the herb lady is no longer there... a man now tends the garden. Has she gotten a tranny op?

08.jpg

hero.jpg
Aye, I want to speak to Laza - do you know her?
man.jpg
Verily - little Laza. She was killed by wolves in the forest. Drove her mother mad it did.

More packages to carry?
trader.jpg
How did you know?!
hero.jpg
Intuition - and three years in the Drak'ar Monastery of the Shaven Back Monks...
trader.jpg
I have never heard of them, what are their powers?
hero.jpg
Shaven backs...
trader.jpg
Strange indeed...so, you will do this?
 A jester to wit!
hero.jpg
Aye, money is money...
trader.jpg
'Twill be hard, I fear... the Giriza has already killed our couriers just to obtain the documents. It is rumored that they pay very well for this...
hero.jpg
This sounds as if you wish me to work for the Giriza?
trader.jpg
Nay, nay... here, take this to Garrid Swan in Qudinar. He will expect you...and remember - this is secret.

Bah. As if the Giriza can stop me.

03.jpg

04.jpg

Just a short distance after leaving the city, a man camped by the roadside motioned me to approach.

05.jpg

hero.jpg
What do you mean?
thug.jpg
D'you think they will reward you - I mean really REWARD you - for helpin' the free world? Nay, never... a droplet of gold here and there... hah! A reg'lar river of gold, now that's what you and I need in this world!
hero.jpg
...you serve not the free world? I am not sure if you realize what you just said... does the threat of the Orcs mean nothing to you?
thug.jpg
I don't mind the orcs - as long as they pay - and you should think the same way... when you've got somethin' of value in your backpack, think on my words!
hero.jpg
What are you talking about - explain.
thug.jpg
The catapult cranks. They're VERY valuable. If you've got them, come back to me. I pay a lot more than the other do-gooders here.

What the- you'd betray your own kind to the niggardly just for gold!?

06.jpg

hero.jpg
TRAITOR! Draw your sword!
thug.jpg
Hah! Then I'll take whatever valuable from your dead body, fool!

The enemy of good did not last long against my fireballs. May the wilds desecrate his corpse and his soul burn in hell.

To think CD Projekt raided half of Reality Pump staff to make Witcher 3.
Did they? But when you didn't abuse the villagers would kill everything, two worlds was MUCH harder game than Witcher 2. (I didn't play Witcher 3 yet.)

Then I will not delay you further - the faster you finish your mission, the better for Kira.

Well met, good master!
man.jpg
Be on the lookout for Necromancers here - if you see one, run back here and tell us. We will take care of him...
hero.jpg
Is there a reward for any information concerning them?
man.jpg
Aye, there is AND we will put in a good word for you with the Society.
hero.jpg
What do you do with the Necromancers you find?
man.jpg
We force them to stop their activities here - and if they are unwilling....why, then we help them to practice their dark arts in the afterlife.

I see no reason to betray the necromancers just yet. My reputation in the Society is flawless. I move on, I considered asking a guard for direction but their reaction is very hostile.

The whole city seems to be on the edge. Even the citizens are unwilling to partake in idle conversations.

The Need of Picks
01.jpg

Some thug waved at me at a dark alley. I approach.

02.jpg

hero.jpg
I do not believe so.
thug.jpg
I believe I do - I've heard good things about your work for the Giriza. You wouldn't mind helping a member now, would you?

Ye gods, all I did was jump over a wall and intimidate a thug.

hero.jpg
Help you with what?
thug.jpg
I had a ... minor misunderstanding with one of our merchants and now 'e refuses to serve me.
hero.jpg
What was the misunderstanding?
thug.jpg
That's beside the point... I only need to get some lockpicks from him. He's just around the corner, you can't miss 'im. I'll pay you for it.
hero.jpg
Why do you need lockpicks?
:troll:
thug.jpg
Are you daft? What do you think I need them for? Pickin' my teeth?!
hero.jpg
Tell me of this misunderstanding you had, my friend, come!
thug.jpg
Verily, 'twas a minor matter - I sold him some loot and he recognize some of it... he even wanted it back! When I said 'Nay friend', he said 'Get out - we're finished!'
hero.jpg
I see...I have some picks with me. I'll sell you some.
thug.jpg
Ah. I owe you a favor now... you don't know how much I needed these.

Two hundred gold pieces for five picks. Funny, I can't recall needing to buy a single one after a bulk purchase I made in early game.

03.jpg

hero.jpg
Where is the harm in a friendly conversation, pray?
merchant.jpg
You better not help him! He stole from my house! I'm not a member of Giriza but my father-in-law is. He stole a valuable brooch from my wife's jewel box - grr... I'll get him!

Whoa, that thief fucked up.

hero.jpg
Aye, that IS a problem.
merchant.jpg
Aye! If you can get me that brooch back I'll pay you for it and my father in-law will put in a good word for you with the Giriza.

Sounds like a fair offer... I return to the thief and demanded he return the brooch. He responded poorly.

04.jpg

We settled our disagreements with a few fireballs.

05.jpg

I retrieved my lockpicks from his charred body and fished the heirloom from his pockets. Time to get paid.

06.jpg

And so ends my part time stint in the streets of Qudinar.

In Search of Association
08.jpg

09.jpg

hero.jpg
I wish to see your leader.
doorman.jpg
Go inside. Reve is in his room - but I do not know if he can find time for you.
hero.jpg
Does he have so much to do?
doorman.jpg
Ahh, have you not heard? The Giriza is on alert - someone plays games with us - a very clever someone...

I'm puzzled. The Giriza is on alert and someone is playing games with the Association? I thought they should be pleased about the state of affairs. Whatever, it's time to make that package delivery. The name of the supposed recipient escapes me. No matter, I'll talk to everyone in the building, I'm sure one will claim the package.

10.jpg

11.jpg

12.jpg

gang.jpg
I know nothing... ask Aki for a reason if you need one so badly.
hero.jpg
Not that badly. Have you been in the Family for long?
gang.jpg
Long enough. Do you wish anything special? Or do you just seek some friends?
hero.jpg
You all seem nervous... is something afoot?

 Mayhap hero is brave...mayhap he is just stupid.

gang.jpg
Our leader has delayed too long - Qudinar becomes a trap that closes with every day that passes.
hero.jpg
Are there problems with the new people?
gang.jpg
Someone is very clever - they find the weak links in the Family and bribed them. Now we can no longer trust our own people and those swine do as they wish...
hero.jpg
'Tis a grave problem indeed...
gang.jpg
Aye, grave... but... I trust Aki. He has solved worse problems than this - I wish I could help him tho'...
hero.jpg
Something to be done, mayhap?
gang.jpg
Talor Ravinard, the boss of the Merchants Association has been busy of late, very busy. We were sure 'twas his business with the Royal Guard.
hero.jpg
Methinks it was not...?
gang.jpg
We have our people in their organization, but the information they pass to us these days is worthless. The Association has something up its sleeve...We need useful information. There are messengers traveling between the Association's posts in Tharbakin and Cathalon, but most of them carry nothing.
hero.jpg
Aye, methinks that is called... 'misinformation.'
:yeah:
gang.jpg
Aye...we think the same - and we are ready to pay a handsome sum to learn what is beyond all this.
hero.jpg
What is it that you need?
gang.jpg
Documents, letters, anything that they try to hide. I have found some men for this job already... but I do not believe they have enough skill and cunning.

Hmm. Could I sell the package I'm holding now?

hero.jpg
Could a task like this be so hard, then?
gang.jpg
'Tis not easy to get into the Association, but if you do, remember our proposal.

 They really don't know anything.

hero.jpg
I will.
gang.jpg
Excellent. Those vendors have never paid any respect to the Family. 'Tis time to change that.
hero.jpg
Why do you call the Giriza a family?
gang.jpg
You should know this - our organization is founded on respect, trust and dedication. Your responsibility for Giriza is the responsibility for your family.
hero.jpg
Is this why you deal with traitors so harshly?
gang.jpg
Our rules state that the Giriza comes before everything - we tolerate nothing that harms our family. Go cautiously, brother.

A Problematic Task
Fuck it, let's run along with these dumb-dumbs. I'm a mercenary. No matter how dumb my clients are.

13.jpg

hero.jpg
Any particular reason why you should do that?
gang2.jpg
Aye - you are skilled at hunting people and I need a hunter - a good one too, who can solve our problem for us...
hero.jpg
Problem?
gang2.jpg
Nay, what I mean is... the Family never has problems, only tasks. We can pay you well.
hero.jpg
Your leader... I would speak to him.
gang2.jpg
Does that mean we have an agreement?

 What kind of response is that?

13a.jpg

gang2.jpg
There is one who calls himself Scar - no one knows where he has the scar tho', come to think of it...

Uh... I think I know who that is...

hero.jpg
You wish me to tell you where his SCAR is?

 Oh FFS.

gang2.jpg
Naayy... Maliel's toes! This Scar has already killed some good men - and he caused a lot of trouble in Forelin too!
hero.jpg
You mean Gorelin.
gang2.jpg
Aye... he was active in Thalmont for a while as well... even stole an item of great import for us... and used our OWN PEOPLE to do it too!
hero.jpg
That was painful, I warrant...
gang2.jpg
Aye... and now rumor has it that he is in the south. He has plans... and whatever his plans, we cannot tolerate more failures. Finish him and get rid of him. I will speak with Reve if you wish. The reward will also be yours. Our informants mentioned Four Stones and Windbreak. I would start there.

That's definitely the guy I killed in Four-Stones from another lead in Excavation Camp. And I still can't turn in the quest till I say bye bye.

hero.jpg
Why do you stay in Qudinar? The City could be taken by the Orcs at any moment.
gang2.jpg
If it does happen, we will know it first. And anyway, there are many business matter which need our attention.
hero.jpg
What kind of business matter, pray?
gang2.jpg
Oh, just business. Reve Hosuno made the decision - so we stay.
hero.jpg
Ok. Bye. Hey, Scar's dead.
gang2.jpg
I know. A fight like that tends to attract attention! You have done well brother.

 FFS. STOP EMBARRASSING YOURSELVES.

gang2.jpg
Reve Hosuno knows of this fight too - he was... interested. I think he may have something for you.
hero.jpg
And the reward?
gang2.jpg
Aye. You may have it. The biggest reward we have ever paid. A few weeks of luxury, eh?

I pocket the cash. This is ridiculous. The rabbit hole keeps getting deeper with so little effort. Like ravaging a loose prostitute, I kept delving deeper into their organization's ranks, easily gaining an audience with their leader to boot.

14.jpg

hero.jpg
Your people say that you need someone for a certain task?
boss.jpg
Indeed. When we take one step, we must take another swiftly before they know of the first.
hero.jpg
Scar's friends?
boss.jpg
Aye, and the Merchant's Association. We have collected enough evidence - they plot against the Family.
hero.jpg
Verily... and the task?
boss.jpg
I believe you already guessed, hmm? Talor Ravinard. The Leader of the Merchant's Association must disappear.
hero.jpg
You wish him dead? By my hand?
boss.jpg
Indeed... when they lose their head, we will give them a new one... one who is more sympathetic towards the Giriza - and less stupid.

I think you're the stupid one.

hero.jpg
What is the payment?
boss.jpg
Thirty thousand in gold. 'Tis more than he is worth, but I wish to end this swiftly - and that sum will warrant his demise, methinks?
:hmmm: Uh...that's a pretty tempting offer. But let me see what the other side is offering first.
hero.jpg
Let me think about this...
boss.jpg
The task remains - come back when you change your mind.

I stepped out of their office. Thirty thousand. That's a lot of money. But is it worth it to sour relations with the Merchant's Association? I must weight the costs and benefits further before making my decision.

hero.jpg
Do you plan to leave the city?
merchant.jpg
Nay, not until needs must - the Council does all within its power to foster close relations with the Cathalonian army.
hero.jpg
Do you not fear the Orcs?
merchant.jpg
Indeed, who does not? However, good business flourishes in extreme conditions, if you understand me... And besides, I am not alone here... Garrid Swan should be here soon. He is responsible for contacts with those who aid us...
hero.jpg
Tell me of this Garrid Swan.
merchant.jpg
Why then? He is married - he needs no new partner.
hero.jpg
You misunderstand me - or you jest...
merchant.jpg
Do I?
:troll:
hero.jpg
Who else supplies the army - apart from the Assocation?
merchant.jpg
Various small organization - too minor to even remember who they all are - I heard that the Giriza was once very active in negotiations with the Royal Council - but 'tis hard to know of any agreement they reached...
hero.jpg
So Cathalon cooperates with crime organizations?
merchant.jpg
Crime organization? Aye, the perfect name for the Royal Council, if you ask me.

 A jester, to wit. Whatever. I had enough time to complete my courier services.

03.jpg

That must be Garrid Swan.

04.jpg

hero.jpg
Garrid Swan? I have a package for you.
merchant2.jpg
From Samon? Did you have any problems on the road?
hero.jpg
Nay, none.
merchant2.jpg
Here. Keep the payment. It seems that the Giriza have calmed down - but for how long no one can tell - I do not trust'em - cunning swine that they are...
hero.jpg
What is this matter of documents?
merchant2.jpg
How do I know I can trust you?

Sigh. After all we've done...

hero.jpg
I brought them here. Does that not suffice?
merchant2.jpg
Friend, of course we are happy that you did good work for us - but does that necessarily mean we can trust you in the future?
hero.jpg
You must decide. I grow tired of your constant suspicion and of your documents.
merchant2.jpg
What? Already? And you have not yet completed your task?
hero.jpg
What do you mean by that?
merchant2.jpg
I need to look at a few things here, update the documents and send them on to Ashos.
hero.jpg
AGAIN?
merchant2.jpg
They should have been there by now - but our leader wanted to make some changes before they reach Takashi.
hero.jpg
I see - but my interest wanes...
merchant2.jpg
Nay, your interest must wax, not wane... and for money like this? Who could refuse? Or... is it fear, mayhap?
hero.jpg
Should I be afraid?
merchant2.jpg
It depends on your skills - the Giriza would do anything to get their hands on this package... and I mean ANYthing!

 Okay, dude. Whatever you say. I take the coins and ready myself for another courier run.

We just met, breh.

hero.jpg
'Tis not always of my own volition, methinks... you...force me into things...
merchant2.jpg
We? You must be mistaken.
hero.jpg
Aye, no matter... how much will you pay for this delivery?
merchant2.jpg
Would 5,000 titillate your taste buds?
hero.jpg
Aye, a lip smacker indeed...
merchant2.jpg
The Merchants Association is very generous to those who serve it faithfully - and to those who do not ask unnecessary questions.
hero.jpg
The light begins to dawn with me, methinks...
merchant2.jpg
The documents have been updated with the new accounts - they expect them in Ashos.
hero.jpg
So I have to carry the accounts?
merchant2.jpg
Among other things. Take the package to Takashi in our post in Ashos. He will pay you well for your efforts.
hero.jpg
Forsooth... at least the payment is good.
merchant2.jpg
Glad to hear that...farewell.

I'm starting to get tired with this chain of deliveries, but it's good exp and gold for so little risk. There's been ZERO attacks. It's literally FREE shit. And one look at the faction records proved how much fuck the game designers gave before concluding that it's done.

Freedom to Study

I finally found the Society's store in Qudinar. They're conveniently located by the telepad too.

They are not Mages, but assassins. They are here to hunt Necromancers. People like them think that the best way to deal with Necromancy is to find every last Necromancer and kill him.
hero.jpg
Do you also think that way?
mage.jpg
Nay... I would like to find out more about the Necromancers. My present project is how to obtain a 'Summon Skeleton' spell to study it... have you such a spell, perchance? I will pay you well!

I don't see why not - I hardly use that spell anyway.

hero.jpg
Fortune smiles upon you - I have one...
mage.jpg
Imagine that! A wonderful coincidence!
hero.jpg
Aye... a coincidence. Nothing more.
mage.jpg
Since you are so resourceful - I would also like to acquire a Necromancer Staff - a senior one will do. If you can obtain one, I will give you much gold...

Hmm. That will be hard. But I'll try to remember that when I ...uh...kill Necromancers.

hero.jpg
Is research into Necromancy legal?
mage.jpg
Research. Aye... but practise nay! However, I would not let those Necromancer hunters know of my research, never fear!
hero.jpg
How is it to be pursued by everyone?
mage.jpg
I have heard that all of those who chose to stay in the Kingdom are persecuted by the Society... but there are rumors about a village in the south called Enclave.
hero.jpg
Enclave - what is it?
mage.jpg
A settlement ruled by someone called the Flame. A free haven for all those who seek the truth with an open mind.
hero.jpg
In other words, 'tis a nest of Necromancers...
mage.jpg
Some day you will understand that there is no distinction between us and the Society Mages - except that we are ever prepared to discover the true nature of the world.

Fine. Leave me alone and I shan't attack.

hero.jpg
I bid you farewell and wish you good fortune!

Time to claim my reward.

hero.jpg
I've the triggers. The orcs now have no chance to complete their catapults...
guard.jpg
In the nick of time! You have done Cathalon and the Free World a huge favor, mercenary.
hero.jpg
Will the orc catapults indeed be useless without those triggers?
guard.jpg
Brute force is their strength. I doubt that they have the brains to make their own triggers.
hero.jpg
Let us hope so. I must go.
guard.jpg
Farewell to you. Mercenary!

I saved the city. 'Tis a good feeling.

Happy after my recent triumph at Hadeborg Castle, I decided to shop around and ran across a robed man in an alley.

01.jpg

hero.jpg
Show me your secret stuff.
02.jpg

Ah. A necromancer. Not sure if I want to report him. That would mean he no longer spawns some random rings and stuff. I think I'll let him go for now. I walk past another street and a man shouted at me.

03.jpg

hero.jpg
Nay...
man.jpg
Nay? But I've been here for hours - never wait on the army - but you look like a mercenary. Mayhap YOU could do it?
hero.jpg
Do what?
man.jpg
I went into my cellar and saw some burglars down there. I rushed out and locked them in. If you take care of them, I'll give you a considerable reward.
04.jpg

How bad can it be?

05.jpg

06.jpg

hero.jpg
Aye... they will cause you no more problems - ever.
man.jpg
Brr, 'tis suddenly cooler here! Aye, well, here is the gold, as promised.
hero.jpg
What did they want in your cellar?
man.jpg
Oh, mayhap they needed a hiding place - or mayhap they thought 'twas abandoned, since I rarely use it. Not that I know of. Unless those burglars managed to dig a tunnel or something?

Well...the cellar does lead to the graveyard outside town...but there's nothing. Nothing to loot anyway. Whatever, job complete.
