What I'm wondering though: Couldn't you just collect a bunch of crates in the begining, cast gravitate to build a bridge to the silver sapling and basically skip the entire level behind it? That was pretty much the first thing I thought of.

That's not a criticism. In fact if the game allows some really broken solutions to puzzles I'll be happy. Especially if many of them are mutually exclusive, and thereby give good reason to test all of them in different combinations.

It's a nice bit of reassurance that they're taking a simulationist track.

As for inventory bugs, well, the codex has forgiven deleted saves after release.

Just for your information : it's a pre-alpha and people in this topic are complaining about bugs and framerate.
We are all aware the game isn't complete, but as a foundation to build on most of what was seen here looks frankly very underwhelming.
Technically, aesthetically and mechanically.

Maybe it's me, but there hasn't been a single moment in this video where I thought "Yeah, I can see a lot of potential here".

I am merely expecting a new Ultima Underworld. As such, basically no video or incomplete demo could provide efficiently what I am expecting from the game. I don't want anything stunning, I just want more of a same that hasn't been done since Arx Fatalis.

My main complaint is that the art style looks like ass, Thief 1 with HD resolution mod looks better than this. Everything looks like it was made of modeling clay, it is strange and the combat doesn't look good, sure, blah, blah, pre-alpha, blah, blah, but are they going to fix this until the release date? Hope the animations are placeholder.

Anything pre-alpha can be placeholder. There's a lot of bullshit about what a 'pre-alpha' is these days. Fully polished vertical slices, art-complete alphas are called 'pre-alphas' for marketing purposes. They're going fine.
