Typo in Goggled Helmet description:

At the end of the stats list it reads PE: 3Tech.

Also, there is no description for the charged rings.

A little bit more of the lost content.
box-maps.png

I restored the original art for Daniel Hallaway's strongbox, the map of Tarantian sewers and Tollo Underhill's map. The art was unused in the final version of the game for some reasons (they probably used placeholders at first, but when the real art was made they forgot to change them).

During the quest to become the Master of Persuasion, you are given an item labelled "Book" detailing the terms Willoughsby recommends that you try to appeal for. I think it's pretty clear from the artwork the item in question is not a "Book" but rather a "Dossier" or "Portfolio" and should be renamed as such.

Another dialoge error: when taken Cassie's necklace from Laura and talk to her again, both lines 9 and 16 are available.
And what's wrong with them? Once she gives you the necklaces you can only ask her about rumors, training and may thank her for giving you the necklace as well.
Both lines lead to the same options.
screen0003.jpg

I think line 9 is suggesting that she insults you (in case you intimidated her to give you the necklace) while line 16 is neutral.
Having two lines for the same purpose strikes me as wrong.

Hmm, line 16 appears only when she gives you the necklace. It really serves no purpose, as there are already two lines (for low and normal reaction) that do the same thing. I may as well just delete it.

Is 38 a low reaction? Why she doesn't insult you as line suggests then?
I suppose if there's another line (third one) for this very situation you can delete line 16 with no harm to the game.

One line appears only when the reaction is below 40, the other one appears if she has at least 41 reaction. And line 16 appears if she gave you the necklace.

On the second thought, I guess, the better idea would be to lock away the first two lines once she gives you the necklace. You ask something more, so perhaps that was the original intent.

Basically, I pissed off Tsen-Ang enough that as soon as I exit, the guards outside attack. This means that Virgil stays in my party (he can't trigger the convo in combat), until I try talking to him... at which point he triggers the dialog and leaves (I hadn't tried talking to him, since I hadn't needed healing).
Hahaha, wow. I had no idea that wasn't meant to be like that. The same exact situation happened to me and the next time I talked to him was after teleporting elsewhere. I wonder why no one else has ever reported this. There's probably a lot of good characters that'll free the ogres, slaughter the village and kill M'in Gorad forcing the guards outside to attack you on sight. I mean, we both had 20 CH so we were able to easily play it off as logical, but what if you had lower stats?

I think blocking one line instead of two is better idea.

I mean, it's better to block the reaction specific lines. So, in your specific case you would see only line 16 after she gives you the necklace, line 9 won't appear anymore.

Yes, yes. I understood you pretty well. Since she's polite in all cases your decision is solid.

But why doesn't she insult you when you have low reaction?

Because she has a fixed greeting, not a generated one. I guess, I'll put a generated one, so the dialogue makes sense.

And then you can just remove line 16 and the dialoge's fixed.

Heh, so much discussing over such an insignificant glitch.

Why remove line 16?

Oh, well, here's how it goes:
{3}{Greetings Laura. Can you help me with something?}{}{5}{re 41, lf11 1, qb1125 2}{33}{} // normal intelligence, already met her before, her reaction must be at least 41
<snip>
{5}{Still no manners? ...no matter. I need your assistance.}{}{5}{re -40, lf11 1, qb1125 2}{33}{} // // normal intelligence, already met her before, her reaction must be below 40
<snip>
{7}{Hey Laura... Me ask you sumthin'?}{}{-4}{re 41, lf11 1, qb1125 2}{33}{} // mental retardation, already met her before, her reaction must be at least 41
<snip>
{9}{Dat rude Lara... Me ask you sumthin'?}{}{-4}{re -40, lf11 1, qb1125 2}{33}{} // mental retardation, already met her before, her reaction must be below 40
<snip>
{15}{Uh, Laura? ...Can I ask you something else?}{}{5}{QU1125 3}{33}{} // normal intelligence, received the necklace
{16}{Uh... Lara? Me ask sumthin' more?}{}{-4}{QU1125 3}{33}{} // mental retardation, received the necklace

I made lines 3, 5, 7 and 9 available only before she gives you the necklace, since it's obvious that lines 15, 16 logically replace them.

I suggested it without knowing the conditions for each line.

Now that I know them, I must agree with your decision

as it's superior to my conjecture.

After having my character open fire on the party a few more times with turn based combat off I think I know what the problem is. Your PC will automatically attack anyone who hits him/her regardless of who they are or whether it was accidental. That explains why it only seems to happen with ranged NPCs.

No, it doesn't. I assume, that's happening on your modded version of the game.

Hmmm... I saw the exact same thing when I double-checked this against the Caladon Panarii Temple map in the Arcanum.dat from Car-Aracanum. I have a copy completely unpacked for study.

Had it been in just my mod I, of course, wouldn't said anything, but when two different sources, using two different WorldEds give the same results.....

Here's Hadrian in the Arcanum.dat I mentioned:

In A:WIP:

...and I've got a mystery to solve this morning, as I recall correcting the description before I went to bed and now it's back.

Description.mes is not module specific.

And please refrain from reporting anything from modded games.

I just noticed that Gar has standing animation (when he looks at 4 o'clock) - he moved 3 or 4 times but now stands still.
It's unbelievable. I've never noticed any standing animations in Arcanum. Are they in or my eyes are playing tricks with me?

All monsters have idle animations, in any rotation. Orcs have them as well, but other humanoid races don't have them (they still have animated combat stances though).
