Unread messages time window is too short

I have noticed that the time window for this site remembering my unread messages on threads is annoyingly short. It is a known fact that this feature takes a lot of resources on a server and many older sites restrict threads to 500 pages to prevent the forum from slowing down too much.

However, this shouldn't be as big of a problem as it was before. Is this setting configurable and can you try increasing the time window?

Never had issue with unread messages. Maybe it's just cookie resetting/expiring? Then you need to manually enter thread on page 1 and click "jump to new" - this happens alot. Server still remembers read/unread messages.

Thanks. This seems to work. Never had to do this on any of the 8-10 different forums I have visited regularly over the years, but I am glad that this is available and the site just doesn't go full Biden.
