I've got an imported version - Ukrain, I think - of the game that came with an English version on the disk as well. Is there anyway I can patch the game? I downloaded the official patch, but it said it couldn't determine the version of the game.

It appears that the patch is only done for the UK, US, German and French version. One thing you could try is to open your vampire.ini (or whatever it is called, I don't have the game installed right now) and change the lang = US or whatever, then try to install the patch again. HTH.
