Ahhh game devs are sub human losers that are not worth any respect. Miserable deformed little creatures that could only live in fantasy world. The biggest chad is Todd...most likely,he fucks bitches,lies retarded fanboyz and makes shit ton of money from them,also nice chin.

Sooo no i don't respect any devs,they create mediocre culture that couldn't stand the test of time for a few decades,let alone being worth respect.

Like book authors, game "authors" can have variable quality of output. They may have released little else but garbage in the last decade, but they wrote that one book ~30 years ago that was awesome, and still get a reason to be respected.

If the OP was specifically looking for authors that are active today, releasing games today... then that narrows it down considerably. In fact, I can only think of one name: Lucas Pope [Papers, Please; Return of the Obra Dinn]
