Hero Adventure has better gameplay but poorer story-telling than Wandering Sword. I'm pretty sure Wandering sword has quite good writing but due to localization you guys may not tell different form them.decent game overall but Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion is better go play it
The game gets easier as it goes, so the highest difficulty, otherwise if it becomes "just right" in the beginning, then at 50% it'll get too easy.Which difficulty do you recommend starting on ?
When you say the highest, are you factoring in the new "extreme" difficulty they added in an update? I think that one is intended for NG+The game gets easier as it goes, so the highest difficulty, otherwise if it becomes "just right" in the beginning, then at 50% it'll get too easy.Which difficulty do you recommend starting on ?
Oh no, not that one, I played when the game was recently released, so don't think there was an extreme difficulty back then. When you say the highest, are you factoring in the new "extreme" difficulty they added in an update? Thanks! How?it really doesn't matterOkay people, I made a mistake (as usual).
I forgot (still don't know precisely how) to recruit Wei Huo from the starting village and only recruited him after clearing the bandit's treasure quest. I am now in Pingkang City, and my current story quest is "Seek Help from Wudang". He's severly underleved (practically a joke compared to my character).
Am/have I completely screwed up? Should I start a new game? Tell me a n y t h i n g!
Cause you can carry him. Thanks! How?it really doesn't matterOkay people, I made a mistake (as usual).

Update Notes
If you’re using mods, be aware that this update may cause compatibility issues, potentially preventing the game from launching or causing errors. To resolve this, we recommend uninstalling any mods, verifying the integrity of the game files, and then restarting.
Save Data Compatibility
You can continue your journey from existing save files. For the best experience with the new storylines, we recommend using save files from the Main Quest: Return to Wudang for the best story experience.
We’ve also prepared an official save file with more detailed progress and content. For those eager to jump straight into the new storyline, you can download it here:

What’s New in This Update
New Storyline
The young master of the TianJian Sect, Xiao Hanguang, has emerged from seclusion and issued a challenge to the Shaolin Temple. Meanwhile, rumors about his connections to the Tianji Palace are swirling. But on the day of the duel, an unexpected event shakes Shaolin to its core... What choices will Yuwen Yi, caught in the middle of this storm, make? What is the fate of the martial world? What does it truly mean to be a hero? The answers await in this new chapter.
Steam Achievements
At long last, Steam achievements have arrived! Thank you for your patience and support. After updating, your achievements will unlock based on your game progress. These can also be completed across multiple save files, so feel free to enjoy the challenge!
Please note: Due to the inability to read the records before Southern Chronicles version, early archives may not be able to unlock achievements. You can consider starting a brand new journey.
New System Features
- Inheritance Library: In the "Extreme" difficulty setting, you can now select additional expansions that increase your difficulty score by 0.2 upon completion.
- New Inheritance Page: Unlock powerful inheritances after completing the game in hard or extreme mode.
- Additional Features: Convert excess meridian points, access a battlefield surrender option, and take on the Five Elements Challenge, where you’ll face tougher opponents for rarer rewards—or opt for safer, easier battles. The choice is yours!
Anniversary Gift
As a thank-you for your incredible support, we’ve prepared a special anniversary gift! After the update, head to Hero Jiang’s home and open the treasure chest located to the left of his entrance to claim your reward. The chest will remain there, waiting for you to claim it whenever you’re ready.
We’re truly grateful for your continued support—it’s because of you that we’ve been able to come this far. We hope the Echoes of Ash and Dust update offers an unforgettable experience.
For what it's worth, there's a cliff you can jump off the instant you get access to the open world which counts as a game clear and lets you select the max difficulty.second game in a row where the hardest difficulty is locked behind ng+, fucking decline
guess I need to find save file from somewhere

I've returned to this game for the first time since launch to check out the DLCs and I'm now very impressed with it. It was already decent - nothing groundbreaking, but solid - but the DLC is an immediately perceptible cut above, to the point where the total package now qualifies as one of the better wuxia games ever made. And it has an excellent, professional translation: making it a great recommendation to newcomers looking to dip their toes into the Chinese RPG waters.
That's a great tip, thanks! I'm thinking of doing my first playthrough of this soon, so I might go ahead and try that. For what it's worth, there's a cliff you can jump off the instant you get access to the open world which counts as a game clear and lets you select the max difficulty.
Definitely. The entire second half of the game is changed for the better, though sadly you still have to sit through a somewhat boring early game to get there. I believe the devs even have some official saves prepared to drop you off right at the start of new content if you just want to do that. For what it's worth, there's a cliff you can jump off the instant you get access to the open world which counts as a game clear and lets you select the max difficulty.second game in a row where the hardest difficulty is locked behind ng+, fucking decline
