I'm not gonna lie, the inner sadist in me is satisfied. I'm slightly pissed that they've ripped off Fallout 3, but only because ripping off complete shit should not be something to be proud of. Still, if the story's good and the mechanics decent, I won't mind.

Meh, targeting different bodyparts is a long tactical game tradition. The only thing they ripped off is the visuals how this is presented. And it doesn't look bad anyway.

Fallout 40k.

The video is a bit less bland than its predecessors but it's difficult to judge the gameplay when you only see it in slo-mo (at least I hope it's slo-mo - ROFL if the game is actually this "fast"). A VATS-like targeting in an otherwise unremarkable ARPG feels alien and gimmicky. Maybe there's some potential but my intuition tells me it won't be terribly interesting.

Body parts targeting is an old Fallout trick and cant wait to do some scourging and purging; in the Emperor name leave none standing. Game looks like decent whack amole and won't have much SJW pandering thanks to setting where l1bruls are purged as chaos cultists they are so its another reason to buy the game when it get patched and hit 20 dora mark.

Oh yeah 40k... isn't that one that hardcore nerds say Starcraft was based off of yet Starcraft is way more successful? I can see how aesthetically it's similar...

I feel like this'll just be another generic game of gloomy science fiction bordering on fantasy elements. Like Deadspace. Only probably not as fun as Deadspace.

I don't recall Starcraft having a successful RPG and tabletop games range. 40K is by no means perfect, but compared to uninspired and boring as hell shit that Starcraft is, it's a masterpiece.

Also Deadspace one was the only decent one. The sequel was passable, but the third part... my god...

Starcraft games have earned more money than whole 40k in its whole history and I am pretty sure Starcraft brand is way more known in the world that WH40k.

The rest about quality of each setting is your opinion.

I looked up some stuff on this Warhammer40k, and it does seem like Starcraft with more fantasy elements of demons, religious tones, etc. I can see the appeal... The Protoss symbols look a lot like "The Eldar" and their Dark Templars are kind of like Warhammer's Dark Eldar?

Would love to see something like these Grey Knights I keep hearing about in Starcraft.

Comparing 40k to StarCraft is just retarded. No actual StarCraft fans even give a shit about the shitty lore.
I do. The Protoss are these orwellian psychic Mary Sues and the Dark Templar have separated themselves from their psychic hivemind despite knowing all the dangers out there.
Humanity is well... basically just America personafied in a bunch of well armored rednecks with big space-guns.
The Zerg even have differing tactics and goals probably do to physical anamollies and needs.

Starcraft 1 lore is actually pretty great but whatever, you didn't play it or read the manual and you just try to fit in.

Actually I've been a fan of Korean pro Starcraft for nearly a decade and got the game on launch day in 1998. And no -- I still don't give a shit about the lore. But whatever -- keep up your ad hominem faggot act if you like.

Doesnt make you any less of a pleb for disregarding pretty good RTS lore. Especially when back then lore was Guys A vs Guys B.

If this thread is any indication of what the titular game will be like then it might just be the worst thing ever. Calling it.

You mean Starcraft has anything other ot offer, except an over hyped RTS game? 40K may have its flaws, and indeed it has many, but in the end there are 7 editions, specialist games, hundreds of books, a movie a ton of video games (of varied quality, albeit DoW is magnificent).

I'd like some proof of that. Given the ammount of products and decades of existing, I'd say that 40K leaves SC far, far in the dirt, but ok - prove me wrong.

As for the quality, it's really about what you like more - space rednecks or space nazis. I'll go with nazis.

Nah mang, I wasn't comparing the two. But Gee Dub has been on a serious fucking decline for years now. We've gone from Marneus Coolguy and the Ultramans, to the assfucking of Necron fluff, and now the total sacking of Fantasy Battles for this Age of Sigmar autism. And let's face it -- most of those products you've mentioned are total shite (you REALLY want to hold up the Ultramarines "movie" as an example of the HEALTH of the property?) As I said, I'm a huge huge 40k fag and I wish GW stopped trying to ruin the setting I adore so much.

Also, StarCraft is a phenomenal game, silly lore aside. It's just really not comparable to 40k as a setting in ANY appreciable way -- not in depth, or breadth, or anything else.
