Designing a UI for this game by inXile its like a game of whack-a-mole.

They nail it one time only for their inconsistency and bad design to pop in another area.

That's why inXile's battle of finding an user interface that is not tasteless is an eternal one.

The UI design is really all over the place at the moment. Let's hope they clear it up. Which they probably will within 3 months time, and with our help.

They didn't manage it in 13. What makes you so confident that they will do it in 3?

Because UI design is far from the only focus they have of the game. UI can be changed pretty quickly and significantly.. 80 % of the game takes alot more time getting right and getting done. we've had several UI passes done just over a few months.

Haven't managed what? It's got a grid inventory, therefore already better than Fallout's UI. They could just declare victory now. :smug:

Haven't managed what? It's got a grid inventory, therefore already better than Fallout's UI. They could just declare victory now. :smug:
inventory =! UI. I agree W2 inventory is better than Fallout's.(but still needs work) But the main UI still looks worse.

Improving over Fallout's 'scroll down to see more than 4 items' inventory isn't much of an achievement.

Improving over Fallout's 'scroll down to see more than 4 items' inventory isn't much of an achievement.

Considering Fallout was made 17 years ago for 640x480 resolutions, it's no achievement at all.

I didn't say it was an achievement, but people are acting like WL2's UI is some kind of non-stop disaster when it really looks fine and just needs some tweaking.

Unless you think non-"solid"/skeuomorphic UIs are inherently terrible and an automatic deal-breaker, in which case, tough cookies.

That part is right, but it's not a deal breaker. W2's UI will never be great, but sure as hell it can and should be massively improved
