I find this game highly problematic. I suspect that it's supposed to be somehow entertaining, especially with the talk about "blood sausage" that trivializes violence. In reality it's just sickening.

If they really want to include fighting, why won't they include for example paintball or lasertag matches in towns or something like that?

There is no point to diagonal movement if it costs 2 AP unless you just want less janky looking movement. Otherwise just move left then up or any other combination. In Blood Bowl moving diagonal only uses 1 MP.

If inXile is cheap enough to degrade to squares from hex. They should at least implement diagonal moving and have it cost 1 AP (like in Avernum and blood bowl I suppose). Sure diagonal distance is 1.41 and the AP cost is still 1...but it can't be that hard to implement. And no limited funding; sacrificing this more mroe reactivity excuse will work this time. I mean Jeff alone can implement that shit...and he is a mactard.

Bah, I unwatch this thread coz it's just getting silly and then of course someone tags me in it

Gord I don't think we've said anything about diagonal movement but yes, diagonal movement is in. We're going to talk about the square grid system and some of the tweaks we're doing in the upcoming update, too.

Blood Bowl?

passes.gif

These are the passing ranges. It has a circular shape (a quarter of a circle in this example), which is what I was talking about the whole time. Great example BTW.

I know, the Codex Retards go ape shit when you mention square grid + circle as I have found out (retard is gonna retard I guess), lets see how bad it is this time around.

iamweasel's retarded sperging
First you read my examples (or maybe not), then you mention Blood Bowl, which uses practically the same system.

Oh, you heart breaker.

Hey, I just got bitten by kicking some dogs. Let's see what happens if I do it again.

Yeah, you're definitely a bright star.

what sport is bloodbowl based on? i know shit about it. haven't played blood bowl either hence the 'I suppose'. I haven't played bloodbowl and cannot into what you mean by the circle. I added blood bowl because flacracker said something. Inan RPFG liek Wasteland, I doubt it will be a filed where a;ll starting positions and stuff are set and the goal is passing a ball or something...not shoot to kill.

lemme show you how movement in avernum 1-3 works.

On the LHS is no diagonal movement, On the RHS is with Diagonal movement costing 1 Ap.
PC is PC/Party member location and yellow shit is movement range with AP.
first row is 1 Ap
2nd is 2 Ap
3rd is 3 Ap
4th is 4 Ap

I cannot see the mythical circle you talk about.

I cannot :popamole: my explanation more than this.

Hiver, Codexian hero: http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4488&start=320#p76043

The time for "work in progress" excuses are now officially off the table.
Im calling it while the iron is still hot.

This latest update is horrible.
In every way. There is literally nothing good in it.

The visuals are horrible, The design of the whole are is atrocious. Every single "situation" in this scenario seems like it was designed for simpletons. All sub quests are amazingly stupid.
Stupid.

Not just bad, or shallow, or silly - Stupid.

The goats, the dying fucking wife... the fucking cart peddler and their moronic mind numbing "problems" and solutions and supposed "reactivity" of it.
I dont know whether to bitterly laugh at those ideas or to spit on it all.

The reduction of the grid into simple squares?

Whats next?

making linear are maps with fucking corridors leading players to the interesting bits?

....

It seems to me it is obvious now where the money and work in this ... venture, went off into.
Into voice overs for the radio and into making stupid demoes for the audience and media outlets that cover that market - that is diametrically opposite of the actual target audience that gave the money for this.

Infact, it may be surmised that the obvious decent in quality of the whole game is directly proportional to the number of cheap, hype ridden interviews given to Rock Paper Shotgun and their ilk.

This is crap, Inxile. Utter and total crap that cannot be redeemed by anything.
And if this area somehow "won" the internal challenge then im loathe to even entertain the thought of what incredible amounts of crap and failure the other areas contain.

You failed.

You failed in every single thing you were supposed to do - but, you got that hype machine by the balls. You better squeeze tight, for all its worth.

Because if you keep designing the game like you are doing now - ITS ALL YOURE GOING TO HAVE.
:yeah:

That overkill guy made some good points in that thread too.
True. The response is surprisingly critical for official for-
Well, of course not everything here is shiny and golden. But then maybe some expectations are a bit high. The animations of Fallout/Fallout 2 for example were awful
