Project: Eternity Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
I don't get the co-op in games like Wasteland 3 or Divinity Original Sin. These are 100+ hours RPGs, I can't imagine having a co-op partner who is there to play with you for 100 hours. And if he just drops in for a few hours, then what's the point?

Imagine having friends right shit
It's not about having friends. It's about having friends who are also nerds and play a 100 hours RPG with you and both of you having the time for that at the exact same time.

I actually agree with you, hence these types of games are mostly for couples.

I mean if you can get together with a buddy to have a beer at a bar for a couple of hours you can get together to play an RPG. However I do agree that 100 hour RPGs are not the best co-op titles out there. You play it for a month, then something happens and you can't get together for three months and when you come back it's gonna take awhile to figure out what you were doing before. I played D:OS 1 with a friend over the course of 3 years. Yes, three years. It takes dedication to stick to something this long. There is also the issue of what everyone wants to do. Sometimes you just want to fuck around with crafting or stealing shit around town, other times you want to fight some monsters, and the other guy wants to do the opposite.

There are good games for co-op, but these are usually fast paced action titles, including action RPGs such as Diablo(clones) where 1) it's easy to get in and out of a session and 2) they have only one gameplay goal (usually to kill everything in sight). There are some exceptions such as Terraria style games where one guy can sit in the base building stuff, while the other goes exploring, and the game flow does not suffer. In games such as D:OS all players need to be on the same wavelength even though multiple courses to take are available.
