Tycoon Codex has dead in the water ever since Saint lost his spleen in the horrible "Water Weenie Incident of May '06". In the meantime, TCancer has been half-heartedly covering various city builders/empire builders/management sims that usually were covered on Tycoon Codex. This has been mainly because they're strategy games in the general sense and the audience is more or less the same (or heavily overlaps).

So...should we, in your not-so-humble opinion, continue to do this? Does Glory of the Caesar Tycoon Hotdog Stand Etc dilute our strategy coverage too much? Or should we do it even more, in a less half-assed manner?

I came here for news on strategy games, not dis' tycoon shit(, yo!). I'd gladly post news for Tycoon Codex if that's what it would take for TCancer to get off tycoon games.

Sorry, but anyone that tries to tell me that Caesar etc etc cannot be considered general strategy games, well they can suck my 'nads.

Before we joined forums with the 'Codex our aim was to be loose and woolly with the terms "strategy" and "tactics" and what we decided to cover, and city building style of games were definitely "in". Now that we have joined forces with the 'Codex collective, and given that Tycoon Codex is in a state of suspended animation, I don't see why that should change.

Even if it was active, I'm not certain why the occasional cross-over (less than now) couldn't be tolerated.
It would be no different from how RPGCodex occasionally runs news about games that many think would be just as likely to come under strategy/tactics (e.g. Space Rangers, Jagged Alliance series).

Don't worry, you'll never get heaps of news about Porn Tycoon, or The Sims, or whatever.
