Damn, I need the expansion pack for IWD to use it D:

Maybe I'll play torment with it then.

Good luck with that. I tried Torment and for some reason the mod didn't work. It might have something to do with the fact that I had the fix pack installed, or maybe it doesn't work with the 4 CD version. Hell knows, I'm pretty disappointed though.

And the mod worked?! What the hell? I installed the game, patched with v1.01 and then applied the fix pack. I also installed the MaxHP mod but it can't be its fault cause it's just a few files in the override folder. Guess I'll try again.

perfectly, i downloaded and installed the official patch, then the unofficial patch from some thread on gamebanshee. and then the widescreen mod. The widescreen mod even said that it was an unstable version and it might not work.

Have you tried setting the widescreen mod to match your monitors native or windows resolution?

I'm still scratching my head but it works now. I didn't install any mods this time... but I probably did something wrong the first time. Good to know it works.

It won't work if you're using the no-cd patch since that modifies the .exe file.

In Planescape: Torment, are the main menu, inventory screen, etc. supposed to be widescreen as well? They show up as a smaller square in the top right corner of my monitor.

Nope, only small.

Been playing PS:T for the first time, and with the widescreen mod. I haven't had any problems beyond the sillyness that is me installing the patch atop the 2 cd version (don't do that!). The widescreen doesn't really interfere with anything (im playing at 1024x768) and it looks freaking NICE. This game gives IWD a contender for nicest infinity engine graphics. Especially the character models look good on this higher resolution.

Tried it out, but the text windows and inventory, spell, and character pages were too small to use effectively. Also, the right click menu was too small and fidgety. Selecting characters in the world was also too tough. This was on a widescreen laptop screen though.

Also, the pixel-hunting for containers in the background becomes unbearable.

The painted world backgrounds look great though.

It does feel weird running at 1680x1050 and seeing so much of the area. Looks great though, and definitely agree that it looks better than many 3D games that are much newer than PS:T.

This is awesome, thank you so much for pointing it out! My recommendation for a beautiful, widescreen-friendly 2d game: Worms Armageddon - native support for whatever your desktop can be, and that includes whatever you can dream up in powerstrip.
.
I've had fun rediscovering some favorites after I switched to a 16:10 for business purposes, as far too many games either outright don't support widescreen, or run too slow for my box to push the pixels involved.

Below is what Team 17 loved its players enough to prevent, for those of you who haven't had the "privilege" of playing a non-compliant game. I mean, holy shit, can you imagine trying to play Worms, of all games, out of aspect? Thanks, Team 17. Now why aren't your 3d sequels widescreen (or much fun)?

Err... why the hell is the pic in the OP scaled? The game looks a lot better when it's not smeared down to 95% size.

Heh, never understood how poeple can use resolutions over 1024x768.
Exactly.

I mean, the screenshot looks great, but can you read the text at all?
You think that but when you get a nice wide 22 inch LCD, you don't anymore.

Even a 17 inch will correct you on that. If it's flatscreen.

Now that this has been out for a while, has anyone here experienced trouble with the game using this tool? I read something about the game crashing when in small areas or something.
