Wizardry 8 - The worst party ever?

Ok. Fine let's break it down.

To be the worst you pretty much have to pick 6 of same class.

Then you want to have absolutely no cures or buffs or aoe, there fore no spell casters.

Finally you can't pick a stealth class because it really good and you ideally have no thieving skills

For Gadgeteer you get quite a few buff and heals: You get heal all and resurrection. You also get superman, guardian angel and armorplate as well as detect secrets. You also get multiple AoE casters of both damage and CC (Terror). Finally they get locks and traps as a skill. So picking a Gadgeteer obviates a large number of the above stipulations. However there are a limited number of gadgets, not all gadgeteers can have all of these, so is having the extra gadgeteers as a burden enough to make up for it. I doubt it, because you can spread out 2 or 3 to each gadgeteer and a number of them are worth having cast each round. In fact having multiple gadgeteers helps becasue you don't have to choose.

For Bards you get two different heal alls and restoration. You get magic screen, soul shield, haste, bless. You also again get mutliple AOE of both damage and CC this is up to high quality such as nuclear blast. Again you also get theiving skills. All around quite good

Rogues are out because they have stealth and thieving skills. Although I could see an argument there I think its basically clearly an all fighter party that is worst.

So having established all fighters is the worst class setup. What is the worst race? Honestly its mostly a push sure lizardman have terrible mental (-10) and faerie have good resistances (15 to 4 and not weaknesses) but in higher levels faeries will still get driven insane without some kind of substantial equipment boost to mental.

Looking back over the equipment lists there are no real restrictions on faeries by race for equipment just by weight, in fact they can use more stuff. If you can get well equipped and stay in your weight limit then faeries are actually probably one of the better races, even with lower HP. But you really are not going to do that and be able to use the good fighter armor + a hefty weapon especially with 6 faeries, maybe you could do two of em.

For the most part other than the fairy weight limit the other pros and cons of the other races are fairly negligible. Resistance wise human are the worst because everyone else is net positive but no race has anywhere close to enough in any resistance to realiably save against the dangerous later effects with spell and equipment boosts.

I am not entirely sure just how bad the faerie weight penalty will wind up being for a party of all fighters. At best its a push and they are a slightly better party than a party of 6 humans, better resistances and worse HP, marginally better. Most likely they have serious problems and are considerably worse. No matter what any combination of races in a party of 6 fighters is going to have a few guys driven insane or some other condition.

Why can't you just avoid all the mind control enemies? There aren't very many and killing them isn't crucial to character development.

I doubt it's impossible to finish game with 6 liz fighters. In the beginning you'll just annihilate everything, and there are probably options like scrolls and maybe even going for some weird Vit+Piet build for Iron Will or whatevers.

At least you'll fair well until Rynjin and that's a lot of options in aquiring cool stuff and hoarding xp. And there are probably some ways to grind some of the secondary skills.

You'll need to train some of your guys in artifacts and throwing so they can reliably use scrolls and consumables to put up buffs and heal.

Scrolls with Soul Shield, Magic Missile and Magic Screen exist so stockpiling crucial magic items like them is one of your main focuses.
