Just seems wrong...why would I -2 AC myself? Or +4 AC the enemy?

Because..why not?
+10 armor class means you are basically naked and -10 armor class means you are a tank.
Also for those doors you need to search around a bit to find the keys iirc

Well, like I said..I have 2 floors mapped out in "Tower of Idleness".
Not sure what I am missing to unlock the doors.
I spent gold on "a cup" to >"Tea Cup"
and Statue to "Statue of Bird"
But neither does anything, can't use the Teacup with Tea guy and Have no idea about "Statue of a Bird" or where it might be used.

Well, the final translation patch is no longer said "Tower of Idleness", they renamed it to "Tower of Stillness".
Same
I found like 4 other statues and i have no idea what to do with them
IIRC it's possible to lockpick those 4 doors(on the corners of the map)
Maybe your thief character is underleveled.

I think I found two bugs in WG4.
1. The game freezes after a party member (or an enemy) casts Tiltowait. The battle music continues to play in the background, but no commands can be entered. This becomes annoying in the Dragon Cave because there are enemies inside that use Tiltowait. I have to reload my save state whenever this occurs.
2. The game also freezes after selecting "Identify" at the weapon shop in Scarlet Lotus Castle (or Llylgamyn). Regardless of whether or not you pay the shopkeeper to identify an item, if you press the cancel button in an attempt to return to the previous menu, the game freezes. To work around this, I simply use Bishops to identify items.
I am playing version 1.01 of WG4, if that matters.
Yes pretty sure I did. You can try it yourself, it shows the first company logo, then eternal black screen. I even tried downloading the rom prepatched from 3 different places and they all had the same issue. The problem isn't the rom/patching, it's the emulator, I downloaded SNES9X to test and it worked fine.BSNES is anal about checksums sometimes, but are you sure you patched correctly?

Earlier this year I migrated from 9X to BSNES (looks a bit better and it runs super game boy) and never looked back. This is the first time I have an issue with it. In fact I'm pretty sure it runs flawlessly all my personal SNES library (curated down from the complete catalog - 570 games, most of the translated ones with soft patching tho) except for this, quite weird. I'm sure byuu would be interested to check why's that if he didn't quit.
