Yeah, definitely sucks, but I'm reserving final judgment until I see the game in action. They're claiming it's because controlling capital ships is boring, and that they would have to make them unrealistically fast and such in order to not make it exceedingly so. And apparently it would be difficult to control them near station complexes and such. Who knows, sounds kinda dubious to me. And it still doesn't explain why they'd do away with controlling the smaller ships. I suspect you might be onto something with the storyline thing, especially as you now hire crew and stuff which indicates they're somewhat switching the balance over from ships to characters. Certainly not the direction I'd take the game in.

I suppose it could lead to actually getting 'proper' and truly large capital ships and stations this time around though( drones will apparently be able to fly down to and maybe even into stations and capital ships), but I guess we'll have to wait and see. They better have a damned good AI for those things.

Single ship is the worst idea ever. I fucking love my shitty teladi hulks.

All they had to do was cut out the fucktarded bloat, nuke the current UI from orbit, bring back cockpits (if your too lazy to model unique interiors for each vessel, just copy iwar 2's system of modular ships). And actually work on the combat this time instead of adding more and more menus upon submenu's for the aspergian untermenschen.

Fucking game developers PISS ME OFF mang.
