I was trying to think back to my first days of gaming, and it was Quake 3.. and mods. I think I spent years playing:

Urban Terror
Freeze Tag
Jailbreak
Rocket Arena
Some Q3 Fortress
Bid for Power (I wish :( )

Not only that, but there were hundreds of skins and models available.

What have been your favorite mods?

I really liked Alien Swarm for UT2004. It really pushed your team to work together because if one dumb-ass let in the swarm, it would all be over. I tried the new one, but it doesn't quite have the same charm.

I use a fuckton of mods for most older games I play, but these ones are the ones I consider especially excellent

Baldur's Gate:
Baldur's Gate Trilogy
Sword Coast Stratagems
One Pixel Productions

Generally, I would say Baldur's Gate has the best in variety and quality when it comes to mods regarding the games I play.

Deus Ex:
The Nameless Mod

Troika Games:
The unofficial patches

Animated Prostitution for Fallout 3. Finally a reason to play it a little bit.
