I like my methodical, tactical, cRPGs. I also confess I quite enjoy platformers. If I'm playing anything it's 70% of the time going to be something like Icewind Dale or A Hat in Time.

How about you guys?

Your list literally includes only 3 genres I care about and omits at least 6 others.

No Shmups, no Run'n'guns, no Beat'em'ups, no Simulators (except Walking kek), no City Builders, no Turn Based Strategy, not even fucking Fighting Games.

There, ya happy? Fighting Games is on me. I should've caught that one. Stuff like Shmups, Metroidvanias, Soulslikes, City-Builders is getting into the weeds of splitting hairs.

1. Non-action RPG
2. Grand strategy
3. 4X strategy
4. Turn-based tactics
5. CYOA

I guess for unusual genres that don't go with that, I like PvP games with cards or arena (ESO PvP, Crossout, Minion Masters, etc.)

I don't even know what the fuck "metroidvania" means, and I have no intentions to find out.
Metroidvania refers to action-platformers with some exploration built around obtaining new abilities that allow the player-character to reach previously-inaccessible areas. They also generally have character progression elements borrowed from RPGs, though the extent varies greatly, with Hollow Knight (2017, some character improvement to help with combat but not the difficult platforming) providing a contrast to Bloodstained (2019, considerably greater character-related elements and easier platforming).

Metroidvania refers to...

What part of "I have no intentions to find out" you didn't understand?

I looked at your screenshots and I saw some platformers. I guess we gotta be thankful that RPG audience is made of grown up people who don't need to invent retarded microsubgenres like "Baldursdales" and "Betrayalboxes" in order to feel special. The worst we came up with is "blobbers", and even that is an inside joke, not a dumbfuck marketing term touted by zoomer gaymejournos.
