  1. What's the best in grid-based dungeon design?

I'm not burning out, I'm binging. Anyway, I can cross Etrian Oddysey 4 off the list now that I'm done with it, I'll say this for Atlus, they sure as hell don't leave you hungry for more. I don't want to know how many hours that took. WoX is pretty great but doesn't fit what I had in mind when I...
  2. What's the best in grid-based dungeon design?

Cool to see this thread still kicking. I'm still at it with these games. 1) I reached the last level of Wizardry I (SNES) but the game is so stressful at this point I can barely bring myself to go on. 2) I'm stuck as hell near the start of Wizardry 6 but can't bring myself to look up the...
  3. Atlus Persona Q

Well the thing is I already have EA IV and Soul Hackers, and Strange Journey, and Dark Spire
  4. Atlus Persona Q

I've never played a Persona game* and I just want a dungeon crawler, is this a spectacularly bad place to start? *but I've played a few SMTs
  5. Morrowind, looking back, is at best a 4/10 game.

Everything that has ever been created in every field of human endeavor has been nothing but utterly overrated garbage that appeals exclusively to retards, so I don't see why Morrowind would be any different.
  6. CRPGAddict

People say this. Apparently Hydlide somehow aged worse in five years than Wizardry or Dragon Quest have in the last 30. If nothing else, I think a better soundtrack could have saved the game's rep. It has the absolute worst music I've ever heard in a game.
  7. Fallout 4 Pre-Release Discussion [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

How can you not enjoy this http://youtu.be/HSXd2PD9duI
  8. Rad-Ass Dungeons

Try and guess what the "A" in "AI" stands for
  9. The Quest 2

I meant the original obviously, that's what you get for reading my post too carefully EDIT: apparently searching for "the quest" rather than "quest" makes a bigger difference than would make sense
  10. The Quest 2

I can't find it in the app store from my phone. Is this thing seriously iPad only and if so......... why
  11. Crispy™ Does a game really "suck" if you spend 100 hours on it?

Spending all your time and money on things you hate is like the definitive nerd trait. "Episode 7 looks so shitty that I'm not even going to buy all the variant covers of the novelization! Suck it, Di$ney!"
  12. Wizardry Wizardry sequel?

Your imagination has the greatest graphics of all! Am I the only sicko who likes wireframes? In Dark Spire you even get properly 3D rendered wireframe with smooth walking/turning instead of teleporting to the next grid square. Nobody ever talks about the Japanese Wizardry games, even when...
  13. What's the best in grid-based dungeon design?

I already got MM1-6 from gog, so I wouldn't. It's got some seriously catchy music, though. I've got 6-8 through Steam, it's just a matter of getting around to them. I'm working on the SNES versions of 1 and 5 atm. The funny thing is they have this rep of being totally archaic and unplayable...
  14. What's the best in grid-based dungeon design?

Thanks for the help, everyone. I can't brofist you on the board, but you all have brofists IN MY HEART. (Edit: wait apparently I can now) I've been looking at weekendwastemonster.net and dungeoncrawlers.org already, it's useful for finding games on specific platforms. I'm actually interested...
  15. What's the best in grid-based dungeon design?

I've been playing old Wizardries, The Dark Heart of Uukrul, Dungeon Master and The Dark Spire. What other games have interesting, tricky, labyrinthine, puzzly sorts of dungeons? I'm not overly picky about the "grid-based" part, I just figured it came with the territory.
