Because there's a HUGE difference between "get max block" and "don't get max block." :roll:

Honestly, stat allocation for every class boils down to:
Strength: nothing
Dexterity: nothing or max block
Vitality: everything else
Energy: nothing

Whats the problem with that?? Neverwinter nights got it and those "auto" builds always sux, is optional so dont cry.

It's optional, for now. Automatic stat allocation isn't even optional though.

They don't, at least in NWN 2. They are more than adequate, and I recommend every person new to D&D 3.5 to take one.
