I got in on the $1 trial. Spent maybe 2 hours in the game and dumped it. Wasn't because I got ganked or anything. I just decided that I DO like a little themepark with my sandbox after all. Otherwise, it's just a grind. If not mobs, then other people, but grind, grind, grind.

spoiler: it's still a grind, regardless if it's a theme park or a sandbox.

you need to join a clan to get into the political metagame. that makes the grind much more bearable. (still sucks though)

Well, at least a themepark offers a pretense for the grind-- story. There's a sense of purpose behind killing those 20 foozles for their testicles, like Foozle Testicle Soup, or whatever.

Obvious point is obvious, however. Even with a story wrapped around the grind, eventually you forget there's some toothless hick in Turned Earth Hollow waiting for his balls to make soup with. I'd still like some kind of world lore to play in with a story that you can get into if you want, while still leaving room for player politics. MMO quests desperately need a paradigm shift.

Enter now the obligatory "MMOs suck!" crowd.
