I just found out about this game and it's really creepy.



Any of you played this? Is it good?

Very simple game, you have to keep control of your doors and cameras to not get horribly murdered while also checking out your energy left. Very simple although it apparently gets very difficult at the end. Good for one or two nights at most, but then again, it's like 2$.

You're stuck in a single room, there are no doors, you have a Freddy Fazbear mask and a flashlight. There are at least 12 cameras to monitor, a music box that MUST BE KEPT PLAYING and at least 11 animatronic nightmares to keep an eye on.

Oh, and some extra surprises that weren't present in the first game.

They are when they're done properly, which is certainly the case in the original.

The sequel? Not so much, but it's scoring points in other departments, such as the creepy cutscenes.

But so far I think the sequel is inferior. It's too hard to the point that it stops being scary and starts becoming frustrating and annoying.

Someone has made a homage/parody game of Five Nights At Freddy's.

"Five Nights at Treasure Island" has the same premise as FnaF - except it takes place in an abandoned Disney park. Cue shenanigans from Mickey, Donald and the gang.



For a game still in alpha it's surprisingly well-done. For obvious copyright reasons this game will be freeware...if it doesn't get C&D'd to death first.

(Apologies for the LP'er, he can be incomprehensible at times.)

Because it lets people sit on a chair several hours straight, occationally press a button and at the end of the day achieve nothing.

I had a closer look at Five Nights At Freddy's 3, and it looks to me like the dev has learned something.

FnaF 1 had 4 animatronics, and the goal of the game was to track them via security cameras and stop them from reaching you by closing the blast doors at the right time.

FnaF 2, however, had 10 (!) animatronics, but instead of tracking them to prevent them reaching you, you were helpless to stop them - you could only try to fool them with the mask. This, combined with that damned music box, made the "tracking via cameras" part irrelevant, the game de-evolved into winding the box, then popping back to put the mask on and maybe shine the flashlight down the hallway. Repeat until 6 AM. It screwed everything up, the game relied on frantic hair-trigger reflexes instead of slowly building up suspense which often led to players scrambling to close the doors. The suspense was replaced by frustration, as a result FnaF 2 cannot be considered a good game, even by "small indie game" standards.

FnaF 3 only has one (functional) animatronic, and it's not a pizza place anymore, but a "Fazbear's Fright: A Horror Attraction" based on the legend of the events that happened at Fazbear's Pizza. It features memorabilia and props from the restaurant, and they even attempt to recreate the appearance, which is why Foxy's head is a light fixture in a hallway. The gameplay now seems to focus on keeping track of the one animatronic, and keeping the in-house systems running, re-booting them when needed. This is good, that's toning down the gameplay to try to catch the feeling of the first one. Let's see how it works.

Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is out.

3 games in under a year sounds like a lot, but the fans seem happy and the quality seems alright. At least they're all cheap, I guess. Not like Ubisoft who tries to sell you half-finished games for $60 every year.
