RPGCODEX: CIVIL WAR

In the grimdark future of 2011, the Codex fell into chaos. Newfags poured in from every orifice, filling GRPG with requests for Dragon Age 2 unlock codes and Deus Ex 3 nude mods. The Codex was weak and vulnerable. All of this was capitalized by Vault Dweller's sudden bid for power, promising a glorious revolution to restore the Codex to it's former glory.

Then, when the Codex was at it's most vulnerable, the unthinkable happened. Seeking vengeance for times past, RPGwatch invaded in full force, shattering the Codex in it's weakened state. The Elder Scrolls Forums were soon to follow, seeking to generate hype for Oblivions 5: Skyrim among the ruins of the Codex. Now, the Codex is a war-torn battleground. Many factions struggle for power among the ruins, each with it's own goals and ideas for the future of RPGcodex. This is turmoil like the Codex has never seen before and will never see again. This is CIVIL WAR.

Yep, another one of those popular little interactive fiction things. Basically, you guys will choose a faction and try to lead it to glory among the wastes of the Codex. I'll be doing it in a style similar to Cassidy's LP, but that comes later. Right now, a faction must be chosen.

PLAYABLE FACTIONS

TRADITIONALIST FRONT

IDEOLOGY: The Traditionalist Front seeks to return the Codex to the way it was in the day of oldfags. Attention whores, retards, and 4channers would be smitten alike. Ideally, information and ideas would flow freely between members. Good, spirited discussion would be common, and civility would reign supreme. Unfortunately, they have a long (long, long) way to go if they ever hope to reach these goals.

NOTES: They have lofty goals, but with a strong backing and many members who would lay down their lives for the cause, VD is one of the major powers in this war.

LEADER: Vault Dweller

MEMBERS: 1,860

PROS: Greater number of Oldfags (a ready supply of experience and combat skill)
Fairly large number of members

CONS: Territory is small
Hard to achieve desired goals

GRAND MONOCLED ALLIANCE

IDEOLOGY: The Grand Monocled Allience wants to reunite the Codex and drive out the invaders and newfags. They enjoy the Codex both for it's drama and lulz and it's more serious aspects, and this grants them a large number of members. They will both destroy and assimilate other factions to achieve their ends, but first and foremost they want to banish the ESF and RPGwatch invaders from the noble lands of Codexia, then the future of the Codex factions can be dealt with.

NOTES: Huge support base. Slightly unfocused on what they want, but overall they just want to get the invaders to GTFO, and soon as possible. The future of this faction must wait to be seen.

LEADER: Dark Underlord

MEMBERS: 2,535
PROS: Very large number of supporters
Large territory

CONS: Territory is spread out and hard to defend
Slightly unorganized

KOOL KODEX KOALITION

IDEOLOGY: The KKK wants to turn the Codex into one big /gd/. A refuge for 4channers, /b/tards, trannies, inanity, trolls, and all sorts of drama and lulz. They readily welcome newfags into their ranks.

NOTES: Universally hated by every other faction.

LEADER: None.

MEMBERS: 1,294

PROS: Access to extremely powerful weaponry (stuff salvaged from the depths of Retardo)
Territory has good natural defenses

CONS: Extremely disorganized

UBERMENSCH CRUSADERS

IDEOLOGY: The Ubermensch Crusaders are a group that split from the Traditionalist Front. They're goals are similar to the TF's, but the Ubermensch Crusaders want to go further. They wish to turn the Codex into a forum for those who are of superior mind than the masses. Ensuring that the Codex is heavily moderated and only those of the most refined tastes are let in, the Codex can be a haven for those who's views are much grander than the unwashed negro masses.

NOTES: Very strong position, but not much support. Could use the chaos of the war to their advantage...

LEADER: Skyway

MEMBERS: 546

PROS: Very well defended, compact territory
Low profile

CONS: Low amount of members
Strict about letting outsiders join

MINOR FACTIONS

MAMMA'S GANG

IDEOLOGY: Doesn't really have one. Just enjoys watching the carnage and destruction from a safe distance.

NOTES: None

LEADER: Naked Lunch

MEMBERS: 3

VAULT CO

IDEOLOGY: ITZ came. Bunker time.

NOTES: You will believe a baby can fly!

LEADER: Cleveland Mark Blakemore

MEMBER: 1

FOURTH REICH

IDEOLOGY: Wants to purge all the lesser races from the Codex and leave it as a place where people can calmly discuss FUCKING NIGGERS

NOTES: May be dangerous. Need to watch in the coming months.

LEADER: Lyric Suite

MEMBERS: 114

UNITED CODEX POWERS

IDEOLOGY: Wants to unite all of the different factions of the Codex in peace!

NOTES: Just a tiiiny bit unrealistic

LEADER: Liberal

MEMBERS: 26

CODEXERS FOR THE AID AND SUPPORT OF RPGWATCH

IDEOLOGY: Turncoats that wish to aid RPGwatch in the war! Blasphemous!

NOTES: The CAASOR is a very well kept secret. No other faction knows of it's existence.

LEADER: None

MEMBERS: 81

THE ROOFLES SOCIETY

IDEOLOGY: Wants to make the Codex see the true glory and epic storytelling of BIOWARE!

NOTES: Has a surprisingly large force for such a unpopular opinion...

LEADER: Volourn

MEMBERS: 130

INVADING FACTIONS

THE BETHSTAPO

IDEOLOGY: The invading forces of ESF. They are ruthless in their extermination of anti-Bethesda opinions. They want to turn the Codex into a Beth-controlled hype machine for Oblivions 5: Skyrim and Fallout 4.

NOTES: Has a immensely vast force, but most of them are rather under trained and easily killed.

LEADER: princess_stomper

MEMBERS: 4,000

RPGWATCH COUNTER-STRIKE FORCES

IDEOLOGY: Vengeance is foremost in the mind of RCSF. Beyond that, their intent is not yet known. They seem to be taking a very stealthy approach, only a few small skirmishes have been fought with them...

NOTES: A formidable army, but easy to troll. That could be their downfall.

LEADER: dteowner

MEMBERS: 2,000

These are all the factions for now. More are bound to appear when the game really gets going, though...

I also made a simple map showing Codexia and the current territories:

Might be way, way too much hassle for you, but if this gets enough votes for each group, you don't actually need to have a 'canon' faction. You could have the various voters playing against each other, making their choices in turn-based style to try and get their faction to the top. Would be a slightly different take on the whole IF thing.

The Grand Monocle Alliance, of course :obviously:

Post-2011 Codex will be:

BANAL. SHIT. BORING.

Therefore my vote goes Ubermensch Crusaders. The Great Purges against everybody with animufag avatars and those who post retarded fanboy opinions shall begin.

Also General Gaming should have a minor weeaboo faction.

VOTE FOR GMA (Grand Monocle Alliance). Also, I say that the Codex Playground should be a playable minor faction, the leader would be Andyman, of course.

I were gonna vote for traditionalist alliance, but then I remembered that I'm a newfag with the majority of posts in GD, so I voted the Grand Monocle Alliance instead.

I think the KOOL KODEX KOALITION should be led by AndhairaX. Give it some thought.

or racofer. or, better yet (since it's based all in retardo), Chefe

Wow, lots of activity already! Remember, guys, that during the course of the game new factions will appear. These are just the ones at the start of the war.

@grotsnik: I was thinking about doing it that way, but it would be waaay to hard to organize on my schedule.

The Land of Codexia slightly resembles South America. And what are these unoccupied territories?
The white ones on the map? Those are currently unoccupied by any faction. Those also may be warzones, though.
