CHAPTER 8
Several commoners are standing nearby. But how did they manage to survive?
Are they trying to insult intellectual capabilities of a little, proud nation that gave these very forums so many quality posters. Or maybe this guy is just Sapkowski's close sibling.
Yeah, it's not like it's a fairly obvious tra... Oh, nevermind, let's proceed.
And inside.
So the writing basically says: If you wait to ruin something forever, ask a Polack to do it. : x
Well, this explanation is still more satisfying than some retardo global "Church is teh evil" conspiracy the game hinted at in Rome.
You bet.
As soon as they step outside they turn into huge, dangerous monsters. Shavier hastily escapes to the nearby cave complex while Isador is forced to retreat inside the cathedral.
From there beating huge dino is trivial as stupid thing can't get inside while I bombard it with spells.
The huge flesh giant Izzy just avoids and runs straight to the cave complex after Shavier.
Need to find the control room.
Why did you charge, moron? Get back!
You died for good cause, but, man, that was stupid move.
The entrance to the control room is guarded by four demonic looking guardians. They are very tough but slow and I have unlimited ability to resurrect so the chances are really not in their favor.
I check Shavier's body just in case... Yup, dead.
I pull them carefully one by one to avoid gangbanging.
And only one remains, though he's bigger and badder than the rest.
But for some reason he ignores Isador and marches inside nearby wall.
Done and dusted.
This is the end, my friends. Watch this awesum cinematic and congratulate me (and yourselves). We made it, after all.

However, I must say the ending is not full rainbows and unicorns. Note the rats. When Isador banished the Fog, the plague returned and it's only a matter of time till it reaches civilized Europe again. Nice touch, IMO.
I rate this marvelous game
out of
As far as titular question goes: no, it's far from being the worst RPG I played. It's still above the level of genuine irredeemable turds like MMIX, at least with Mistmare I wanted to know how it ends rather than abandon it immediately. Truth to be told, "cRPG" is hardly the best term to describe it. It feel more akin to story-driver action/adventure with RPG elements which makes it sort of a proto-Witcher.
Thank you for reading, and expect me LP more obscure "bad but somewhat interesting" games in the future.
