I don't know how much more damaged the IP can get.
ME2 was the only decent game, and it was very flawed. ME1 was overrated and boring. And ME3 basically destroyed the entire setting and most of the characters in one way or another.
All the mass relays are destroyed in every ME3 ending except the Shep-GPT ending. (They blew up there too, but Shep-GPT rebuilt them using the Reapers.) So, either the name of the game "Mass Effect" is meaningless and the thing that made the setting unique destroyed, or else the setting is now completely pervaded by the will of Shep-GPT.
The best way to fix it without relying on the Andromeda galaxy, which is already tainted, is to go further into the future, but the further away you get from present day Earth, the more the setting will be the Star Wars ripoff it always was anyway.
