Decline PS4 wins the console war against XboxONE, yet it is a hollow victory as Consolesdämmerung is upon us

I have no interest in modern Nintendo games, but I also realize they're not for me. They're for the childrens. I started playing Nintendo games in the early 90s, but kids these days aren't gonna excavate an SNES and play Super Mario World, they want some flashy new thing. So while I won't be playing Super Mario 19 or Legend of Zelda 20, I don't begrudge Nintendo for making them.

Sony delivered the better console on all points, it is rewarded with better sales, that harken back to the PS1 and PS2 days. It is simple as that. Nothing will chip away at their momentum. This generation is done.

I'll buy a PS4, but I'm not going to make them any money because I only foresee myself buying a handful of games.

Xbone might be getting the gamers who love to pay.

MS might still win out.

I don't know,if Nintendo games are for childrens, then the AAA PS and Xbox games are for brain dead:
1.Walk in small corridor.
2.See enemies,go in cover and regen health every 2 seconds.
3.Pop the moles, who move only their heads from cover(with auto-aim,you just need to press 1 button to shot over and over again, you don't need analog stick or mouse).
4.See boring cutscene.
5.Repeat to infinity.
Gameplay-wise Nintendo games are for childrens, but the bar is so low, that they look like adult games now ( I don't care about the story or the colors of the game, this is not "adult" factor for me,this is not movie or a book).

Nintendo games, when done right, should be like Pixar... made for kids, enjoyable for adults. I don't think they've been done right in a long time though, no matter how man 10 out of 10 reviews they get.

http://www.gamereactor.eu/news/102544/Source:+Xbox+One+hitting+delayed+regions+Q3+2014/
As you may recall, Microsoft announced the delay of Xbox One's launch in eight territories back in August.

Since then there has been no word when these countries (Russia, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark) would be getting their official launch, but Gamereactor has now learned from trusted sources - the same ones that told us of the original delay before it became official - that they could be in for a longer wait than expected.

In fact, we're told Xbox One won't launch in the Nordics until the third quarter of 2014. Given a launch in July or the first half of August is unlikely, these countries are looking at a nine to ten month delay compared to the original November launch this year in other territories.

We have no confirmation on whether the other four countries mentioned above are looking at a similar launch date to the Nordics, and it remains unclear what this could mean to other territories (Japan comes to mind). The delay may mean Microsoft is either struggling with supply, or localisation is proving a massive challenge.

In the meantime Xbox One units will continue to be imported by hardcore fans in these countries and with PlayStation 4 already launched weeks ago in Nordics, Microsoft will be facing a uphill struggle when it comes to competing with Sony for marketshare.

http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2193418/xbox_one_digital_game_prices_raised.html
There's been a lot of talk regarding high digital prices of games on the PS4 and the Xbox One, with Sony in particular coming in for criticism for high prices that have since been adjusted.

However, rather than lower their prices, Microsoft has now gone in the opposite direction, with the price of Xbox One exclusives Forza 5, Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 all being raised on the Xbox store.

Forza 5, Ryse and Dead Rising 3 were all previously priced at £44.99, but are now on sale for £49.99.

Digital pricing on console platforms has understandably been criticised by those who question why digital prices should be equal to, or even higher than, retail copies of the same games.

The logic behind Microsoft' £5 price hike for Xbox One exclusives is likely to be lost on those already unhappy with the price of digital game downloads.

Man MS is doing everything it can to make the Xbone fail as hard as possible.

I haven't decided anything so far but I believe that the combination of Kinect 2 (if it works now as intended) and a VR goggle (like the Oculus Rift for example) would be the Next Gen innovation for gameplay that everyone is expecting. The combination of Motion Tracker and VR goggle allows for example to push "real" buttons in a Cockpit Shooter. I really want this to happen. Therefore I think I will stick to the Xbone! ;)

The Kinect (or Kinect 2) isn't precise (or fast e.g. too much pipeline lag) enough for the purpose of VR, afaik Oculus actually hired this guy who was working on predictive tracking algorithms based on object recognition, see this thread here: http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=138&t=18148 and are working on their own solution as far as I know.
One of the early "Consumer" prototype mock-ups they have shown was shown off with two cameras for each eye integrated, which would also allow for 3D AR applications using the Rift: http://www.pcper.com/news/General-Tech/GTC-2013-Oculus-VR-Reveals-Future-Oculus-Rift-ECS

I suppose if a large amount of people are dumb enough to pay ~60€ for a console game (which does appear to be the case) then it'd be foolish of Microsoft not to exploit that. No idea what the official PR reasoning is, though - if there even is one.

I have to say, these consoles look seriously underwhelming. Nothing special hardware wise, shitty launch titles. It doesn't look like I will be buying anything last gen either, makes no sense to buy ps3 for like what, 2 games? Never owned console and it looks like I never will which is kinda funny because believe it or not I don't have any irrational bias against them. Hell as a kid I wanted Pegasus (NES clone, was very popular in potato).

Therefore I think I will stick to the Xbone! ;)
You expect too much. If motion controls where going anywhere, any time soon you'd think that by now they'd make it more than pointless gimmick. Also I don't follow this so I might be wrong, but what makes you think Oculus will work with Xbone?

I couldn't care less about the PS4 or the Xbone. I'm still playing Dark Souls and will be probably forever, plus I'm re-playing old NES games, plus I have about a dozen games I haven't even touched on Steam, and a handful of oldies on GOG I have yet to check out. Then there's the Fallout re-play I've been meaning to do, PoE and W2 will be here soon, etc. etc. etc.
