No, I think it's more a case of TW2 is out and WoX2 is not (by a long shot). Pleanty of codexers where showing the love when KoTC came out.

If turn based mode is as good as the one in Wizardry 8 then I'm all for it. If it's anything like MM6+ then why even bother? Did anyone use it unless they wanted to abuse the game?

That's exactly what I think about real-time.

Yeah, come to think about it, they were both pretty abusive depending on the circumstances. RT for running around, avoiding combat, hit and run tactics, and TB for range and some melee. RT was p. sweet for killing lower lvl mobs in melee. Still, the game is remembered fondly for other aspects, not combat.

If only you had realised that my original post in this thread was a dig at the trillions of threads about real-time games in General RPG Discussion rather than an accurate calculation of the number of real-time RPG fans on the board. Unfortunately no. We just have no 2d artist for this work. All inventory made for the current variant: no doll, only slots. It was hard decision, but it was the only possible for that time and for now.

As for the turn-based battles, we think about making real-time mode enabled or disabled (we do not want to get a 'cheating' mode), but the turn-based battles will be presented anyway.

I don't know about you guys but I'd happily trade paperdolls in for decent turn-based combat. Both would be nice, but this is a group of Russians we're talking about.

Thanks for posting these screens, Luzur. I knew of AlexYeCu's project from before, but did not know which stage it had currently reached. He has done a most impressive job with the general presentation, it seems.

Either way, I am not going to have too many exacting standards given this is one person's personal project with his own time and resources, so paper dolls,.etc are no big deal. I am just glad a fellow WoX fan is making a related game. I'll probably be justified in pre-emptive bitching had I been donating to this project or whatever, and since I am not, why bother?
