DeadAlfs likes game, hates bugs in ToEE

DeadAlfs serves up a review of Temple of Elemental Evil, basically giving it high marks in most areas but gameplay because of the bugs. Here's a bit on combat:

Which leads me nicely onto what is arguably ToEE's main gimmick: Turn-based combat. Hardly a revolution in the grand scheme of things, but a milestone in the D&D videogame franchise - and it's never been done so well until now. Why developers (Bioware included) let their design documents get in the way I'll never know, for this undiluted representation of 3rd edition D&D proves just how well the system lends itself to PC RPGs.

I wouldn't call it a gimmick, either. Gimmicks typically aren't as well done.
