ZenGamer posted this full of excitement review and gave KOTOR a Must Buy rating.

KOTOR takes place a long, long time ago. 4,000 years before the events in the original movie trilogy, to be exact, but you’ll never notice it. Space and weapon technology, alien races, cities, planets and more are just as recognizable here as they are in the trilogy. Other than some new ship designs and the fact that the Empire = the Sith and Jedi are more numerous, there is really nothing that points to KOTOR being set 4,000 years in the past as opposed to 4 years in the past. Before I get flamed by the Star Wars faithful, there IS an explanation for this lack of technological advancement, but I still had a hard time buying it. Even the plotline (Sith are trying to conquer the galaxy using the Dark Side, imagine that) is similar to what you’ll find in any of the books or movies. That said, Star Wars fans will simply love it, because they’ll get to experience all the stuff we’ve grown to love about the films – the lightsaber battles, the spaceflight, the interesting alien species, the use of the Force.
I bet that’s what George Lucas said when he made Episode 1.
