The developers of the newly released European CRPG Kult, Chris Bateman, the self-titled Creative Overlord of International Hobo and Peter Nagy of 3D People have been interviewed at FileFront.

Q: What do you feel are the most successful elements of the game?

Peter: This very much depends on the individual player – each player likes something different. But in fact, according to the responses we have received so far – the Attunements systems (even though it might need some improvement for clarity) – for a lot of players it is one of the best game experiences they have ever played since times of C64 games.

Chris: I am pleased with the player response to the Attunement system, but I’m also happy with how the story came out. It’s not your typical fantasy story. Also, this is one of the first fantasy RPGs where you won’t have to lug around a thousand healing potions… I do like the way this part of the mechanics work. You can heal indefinitely, but the more you heal in the field, the more beaten up you become. Eventually, you have to pull out of the field and rest.
Yeah, the attunement system is unique and its implementation deserves a lot of praise. If you're in Europe and you have access to the game, Kult's definitely worth checking out, whether or not you're starved for a CRPG.
