IGN offers up first impressions of Dungeon Siege 2. The guy really digs the game, but he apparently also dug the first one too. Anyway, here's a fun part of it:

Of course, making a favorable comparison to Baldur's Gate will get a lot of people in a lather, especially since DS1 was basically an action RPG. I didn't expect DS2 to deliver this winding, twisting story. Underneath the hood of the graphics engine and rudiments of combat, DS2 feels like a completely different experience than its predecessor. However, DS2 starts out slowly, like anything with a long plot arc can. I think this is one of the reasons why the recent demo was so huge, both in size and in the amount of content, because you can't really appreciate what's going on until you've been playing for a few hours.
I can see where this would ruffle some feathers. I didn't even like Baldur's Gate, and I think making this comparason is a joke.
