For KOTOR, Bioware could have given us a linear, chimerical storyline that may have been great, but not necessarily in line with the Star Wars universe. Instead, Bioware promises us a story that is not only contains significantly differing branches, but is of such large scale that it will inescapably shake-up the Star Wars universe like never before. And don't worry about authenticity. Bioware has George's personal blessing, and you can be confident that everything is approved and critiqued by LucasArts.
