I thought Fortnite was free? How would fortnite fatigue lower video game revenue?

Presumably people tired of Fortnite aren't quitting games altogether, they are buying other games?

Economics of scale. Nearly everyone in the Americas, Asia and Europe has has a smartphone, that's basically half the population of the world and there are a massive variety of games that can run on anything. From there it's mostly whales paying for microtransactions and a ton of ad revenue.

Remember when someone was HOT SHIT on the tube when they got a Machinima contract? Then Google, not wanting to lose the sweet ad profit to middlemen, simply made it easier for anyone to monetize videos :lol:

I'm really surprised Machinima still existed in any formal capacity.
