    If you're into pilotwings, have a VR helmet and a strong stomach, Ultrawings 2 is great.

    All the challenge comes from the bosses. There's no attrition, since there's a very generous checkpoint system that recovers health and ammo on death (you can even assemble a new mech on a checkpoint).

    I got some stuttering in the desert stage with the storm. On top of the stage the fps where over 60, but the frame pacing was trash. Overall, good performance. The best mouse and keyboard controls Fromsoft has implemented. A little too easy. Just fought the first 3 arena enemies, haven't lost...

    Run from anything you can't kill. Running/teleporting away also resets positioning, so your merc doesn't die in a second. Needed to divide and conquer packs. Steal life equipment is good on him (amn runes, 7% on weapons), if you can't keep him alive by running and potions.

    I bought a gulikit controller to avoid stick drift. They use electromagnetic modules for sticks and triggers. Been using it a couple of months, no issues at all. All my previous xbox controllers had drift, some of them right out of the box.

    Last time you were pleasantly surprised by a game (any genre)

    I played "Brigand: Oaxaca" for a couple of hours yesterday. It will surprise anyone that can look past those graphics, controls, low framerate, weird resolution scaling... etc. Amazing what a single dude can make, specially when you look at the "Deus Ex" sequels.

    All the negative reviews of "Aeterna Noctis" are people bitching about the hard platforming. The devs even added an alternative mode of play with easier platforming because of it.

    Small/cheap indie games with a surprising amount of content?

    NEO scavenger and Cogmind. Most roguelikes, really. Baba is You is a fun puzzle game, by the same dudes that made Noita. 200 puzzles, some of them pretty hard. Chronicon, made by a single dude, has more content than most diablo clones. (I think its trash tho. They copied the wrong diablo).

    I may have liked this version purely from a nostalgic perspective, but I guess if you have the money then go for this remaster. If you don't, then there is a glide wrapper that let's you play widescreen at 60fps for the old version (some may argue that it's better than the remaster).

    Download fightcade and play all those old school fighting games with good rollback. Most of them even have training mode and ranked fights.
