So anyway, the devs have made an announcement about it and included a screenshot:

Kill me. Kill me now. I think I'd rather have ASCII over that cutesy BS.

How come people at the official boards seem to be OK with how incredibly gay the characters look?

Gay colonialist midgets. Perfect idea for some twisted porn, perhaps.

fashioned by the players themselves from basic, non-respawning resources. In other words, there's only a finite number of trees
I don't know why this is supposed to be a good thing... IRL trees respawn pretty easily after all.

The developers are gay. And the "lead artist" is a huge fan of Tom of Finland. I do wonder...

I don't necessarily mind a cute art style, but that's just plain ugly. At least the devs have stated that they will continue working on Haven & Hearth, Salem is just a side project.

Hey guys here's a screenshot from my upcoming MMORPG (permanent death, PA setting, you need to form clans/tribes/towns with other players to really be able to survive, etc):

Them screenshots man. I can really see the H.P Lovecraft inspiration behind all of that.:
I'd say the influences are pretty obvious.

Sure, because the crowd that would be willing to play a Hardcore Perma-death MMO is the same people that would like to play with cute little gnomes.

FUUUUUUUUCK! New England is like my favorite setting EVAR and I finally get an RPG in it and it's a damn MMO! Sure sure it sounds interesting, but fuck me, I hate MMO's and even when I play them I play them single.

EDIT: Oh wow that screenshot  Good grief

I think I want to have perma-death in if everyone looked like THAT in the screenshot. After everyone dies, I'll kill myself.
