As I said, if being japanese is "too offensive", he could then post about games such as Pyramid, Void, Black Palace and Paper Sorcerer.

I mean I can understand his point. I like blobbers. I'm just now getting into the whole japanese wizardry blobber scene. But I still don't know a good jrpg versus some random pokemon crap (which incidentally, some other sites consider to be a very good rpg).

And there is a TON of JRPG-type trash out there that's nothing more than softcore dating sim porn and KRPG grind-fests. I do think good japanese and blobbers should be covered. No real reason that Paper Sorcerer wasn't covered, for instance.

But I don't think it's a bias against blobbers. I mean Lords of Xulima was posted on the front page when it was released.

I'm glad there's little coverage of JRPGs. It has zero appeal to me, and the kind of white people it does appeal to tend to be disturbingly creepy, best confined to 4chan and 8chan.

I wish there was less coverage of RTwP games, but here we are with Tyranny, PoE, that shovelware action game that ran out of money so they did another kickstarter, BG EE, BG2 EE, Icewinddale EE, Dragonspear, Sword Coast Legends, etc. None of those, save Tyranny, are any of the least bit interesting to me. None of those, save Tyranny, are in the least bit like Fallout, which was mainly why this site was founded if I understand correctly.

We don't all get what we want mate.

aweigh I don't really want to get into what is probably going to be a loooong thread but I just want to say Elminage Gothic is shit and not an rpg. Sorry bro. If you enjoy it though play Mordor, or it's sequel. Far better. Or play MMX: Legacy, a great recent game. Strangers of SC does look cool, but like EG I feel it's just a visual trap, and the game itself will suck. I loath static enemies that are not animated. Not to mention showing a jumbo jet in the trailer does not really give a positive sign.

Also I would be leery of any LP Crooked Bee has done, simply because CB deliberately only LP'd some 'hardcore' rpgs just to show that she could and to show she is more hardcore than anyone else here. basically she did it so she would be accepted into the RPGCodex and gather a fan base around her before beginning her play for power and eventual domination/ownership of the codex, which was her ultimate plan. it is succeeding, as she is now the editor in chief and, as you may have noticed, she has long since stopped contributing in any meaningful way nor has she made any LPs. I believe she plots to use the connections she makes with game developers using the Codex as a stepping stone to launch herself into a well paying career involving gaming, likely as an 'Editor in Chief' or ' Head Community Organizer' or 'Senior Game Designer'. aka a high level well paying post that requires no knowledge of actual coding, art/animation, sound, etc. The Brenda Romero method, if you will.

LPs with such an ulterior motive should be taken with massive grains (if not bundles/sacks) of salt.

Oh and btw Paper Sorcerer got extensive coverage here at the Codex, at least there was a pretty big thread about it on GRPG and I do believe multiple newsposts.

FTFY.

Incidentally, it appears she was successful and now her boyfriend and she can play RPGs together and laugh at us shitposters on the codex chickendex.

EDIT: Also, incidentally, I have not seen anus_pounder on here in months. I fear the worst men. :(

There's no coverage for very good reasons, infinitron was not given a cdkey, nor anyone from the staff. When they do it also automatically go to curator list,no matters the quality, you could look on their steam profile those games are added with often 0 minutes played at all. I dont think they received any paycheck for this , that definitively doesnt encourage writing any newspots.

So the watch a mainstream friendly site , not blocked by corporate firewalls like the dex, covers it . They gives it a stellar 5/5 , the review was probably commisionned by the publisher, elminage gothic is barely ok as a blobber and absolutely not deserving that. Few codexers are interested in blobbers, amongst them many of us prefer everything past wizardry 5 , the japanese only clone the 1-5 primitive system . I prefer a lot more WIZ 6-7-8 , fate gates of dawn, world of xeen to any them.

If you read the elminage thread you end up with only one codexer , only one who had the patience and will to finish it. Nope that game is not that good.

Mortmal's Crusade against RPG Codex Curator Corruption became funny when he started insinuating that we were getting bribed by one-man indie developers. He even said that if he were in charge, he would remove all the indie RPGs because "nobody's played them". Why do you hate indies man?

I said i would remove a lot of them , but not because no one played them , cause the average quality is simply awful. Ah yes you got bribed, a small bribe, but a bribe nonetheless and you are all butthurt i found it :)

You poor poor men

YOU POOR POOR MEN
Bleh, what i meant to say is that infinitron didnt need to be staff to make newsposts. At least thats what i remember, that any mod can make them.
