I haven't found a thread about this one. I tried it on mobile and it's not bad but can get repetitive after a while. Covid was the obvious reason for its rise. What else? Do you think a wave will follow?

There is already a wave of players flocking to the game, especially with its availability on the phone. That way, the normiest of the normies can now play it.

Well yes, its one of the most playable games in the world right now. By wave I meant the wave of similar games. Like with PUBG and battle royales.

Agreed. I played with a few friends a couple of weeks ago, and it got boring after a while. It's also all about your group. The game is better with A LOT of people. The same five people will get old fast, mainly because you can easily single out the bad liars.

I spent a little time in late September watching Among Us-streams, trying to gauge this game. It's a neat social deduction-game if you're into those.
HOWEVER, the fanbase and hype around it has gone insane. Any little update to the game becomes a major focal point for streamers.
"We can vote anonomously?" Three days of streams about that.
"We can play in monochrome?" Three days of streams about that.
"We changed our names to pronouns, or randomized our names, or named ourselves after rooms in each level!" Three days of streams about that, respectively.
How do I know this? Because YouTube's "recommended"-algorithm has gone full SHODAN on me. I've scrubbed my (offline) browsing history twice this month, and I'm still getting Among Us-recommendations.

It's a simplified Werewolf in space. It's fun for an hour with friends but nowhere like SS13

Wait until the game remove black, brown, yellow, and white colors because enough people complained to the devs on Twitter about cultural appropriation and racism.

i had fun with friends. in games like these the key is not to play with awful randos. not bad for $3 i got few hours but it does get old and my friends moved on too but the early experience was amazing and figuring tricks to lie is fun

Doesn't sound like it requires too much of your personal time, which would make it an adult game, imo. RPGs aka children's games typically require you to invest a lot more time which is why they're not made for normal healthy adults.
