Watch out for people ritualizing the means to do basic things like reproduce. There is no competition or status. Which would only be playable by sentient AIs? How much APM do you need to control 50 mages? You could do it with Dominions 4 turn based combat but the micro would still be ludicrous, same as scripting a large battle but over and over. The only way to achieve this is to heavily reduce the scope and complexity and for that you can already play TW:WH.

But Dominions is almost exclusively played multiplayer because the AI is laughably retarded. I'm afraid you'll have to wait for Skynet to have any fun with such a game. Might as well just have it completely turn based.

I don't play it in multi though, I play it in single player. I generally prefer single player campaigns for games like that because it means I don't have to wait for others to play their turns.
