I think you could make a really interesting wargame about the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982. Have a real history scenario but also alternative history scenarios like what if Assad had realized that the Israelis were lying about their war aims earlier, what if the Syrians and Palestinians actually joined forces against the Israelis instead of hating each other more. Of course it's never going to happen because wargames are a dying genre dominated by 70-year old autistic far-right boomers who masturbate to whatever Heinz Guderian and Ariel Sharon told them.
