People are way over reacting over this game. This is admittedly a small game by junior producer so that they get more experience in leading the making of game without plunging them into a hundred millions USD project. Game is an asset flip and took inspiration from modding too (seamless co-op instead of summoning for boss fight), popularity of roguelite games, and just general hype on soulslike combat in general.

Clearly a small budget game from smaller team so they get more experience while filling in time as their next major game is probably only in the initial production phase after ER Expansion was out.

Lately I get this hunch that they will work on their coop experience with this title, add some enhancements to it, maybe try to optimize their networking code, and then these updates will carry over to their next big game
