I still haven't finished F4. Next year, next year definitely.

As bad as F3 is, F4 is even worse.

While F3 is like suffering from eternal diarrhea, F4 is eternal diarrhea that comes around and spills right on you
At least, F4 doesn't have potato faces, F3 suffers from Oblivion ugliness legacy.

Fallout 4 is unironically the worst game I ever played. And I played Pillars of Eternity II AND Dark Souls III.
Dark Souls 3 is all right. Bit too long. The first game has the best pacing IMO. Gael and Midir remain two of the best bosses in the series. Also, it's not utter dogshit, unlike Dark Souls 2

Loved 3 and still do, didn't like 4 because they gutted the skills. Levelling up didn't seem to matter all that much. Didn't like the main character from the get go. Fallout 3 you can atleast get a few blank slate mods and forget about the MQ, but everything in 4 is built around being a dad. Atmosphere was gutted too. Fallout 3 nailed the bleak wasteland and few games have managed to top it but F4 was too bright, and too normal looking. Modern day Detroit looks worse. FNV suffered with this too, hard to believe you're in post nuclear war when the world looks fairly normal. None of the modern Fallout games sans F3 feel like survival games at all despite having survival options.

Fallout 3 is okay. I can finish Fallout 3.

I couldn't get halfway into the story of Fallout 4 if you paid me to do it. I even bought it in VR, thinking it could salvage it. Besides a few moments that didn't involve gameplay, it didn't. You can't save this game.

I know it's cool to hate Fallout 3 now but I want to mention two things:

1 Fallout was dead and the reboot was exciting

2 the Bethesda template was still new

Ofcourse the videogame industry progressed while Bethesda was stuck making the same thing.

That's ok I hated F3 even before it was released and I'm not gonna stop now.

Personally I liked F4 just fine, the trick is to completely ignore The Sims part of it.

I never got all that far in it. By the time I met the chick who sounded like Bobby's World's mom I couldn't stop laughing and ended up binge watching that cartoon forgetting about it.

*That chick who has a science journal and wants you to do experiments for her like take drugs and get blown up.... i think.

Did the video game industry progress? What is AAA video gaming in 2025?

* Cinematic games borne from the likes of Uncharted (2007)
* Ubisoft-style open world games borne from Assassin's Creed (2007)
* Bethesda-style open world games borne from Morrowind (2002)
* Live service games borne from World of Warcraft (2004)
* Soulsborne games borne from Demon's Souls (2009)

The only thing that's changed is that most of the games are bombs now.
