If KCD2 had dismembering it would be great, right now the combat is serviceable from gameplay standpoint but not very enjoyable from action rpg/graphical standpoint. You don't get much feedback on your hits, whether a good hitstop, sound, blood, dismemberment or armor holes if you use warhammers/picks. Hopefully other areas of the game make up for it, especially story and immersion.

100%It's easy to understand why this game will find more success than Veilguard, and it has nothing to do with acceptance, cringe, or whatever. Warhorse did a bait and switch. They can add whatever they want in their games, but I don't accept it for the simple reason that the tune of Vavra changed once leaks happened. We did not hear anything about the controversial stuff before then. He sold out, which I may not have had a problem with under some circumstances. The thing is that his game would have done well either way. Unfortunately, he bent over and took woke dick in his butt, and grabbed some money in return. Seller of snake oil, and no matter what anyone says, my mind can't be changed. I don't wish them neither good, nor bad luck. It went off my wishlist, and that's the end of that.

I don't want to keep harping on this necessarily but if you think Hans Capon is supposed to be a role model, I think you lack media literacy. He's a rich fuckboy who causes much of the conflict in the story by having dick for brains. I finished almost all content and enjoyed the game immensely, but 50 hours spent with Henry of Skalitz is more than sufficient. I don't see the point of creating a sequel with the same protagonist, especially given that Henry should already be immensely experienced by the end of the first game and therefore character progression in a sequel would be limited unless the protagonist's skills are reset to zero. Rather than spend more time with the same protagonist following up the plot of the first game, I would much rather see a similar (but improved!) game with different characters and plot; preferably occurring during the Hussite Wars with a player-character who is more customizable.I can confirm this - KCD2 story will continue the story of KCD1 right where it ended. That doesn't mean there can't a 17 years jump into the future in the middle of the game. Right? But ask yourself how likely that is.Looking forward to Kingdom Come II: Hussite Wars.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance has a number of interesting systems relating to a variety of skills, connecting to both combat and exploration, and tied into its nonlinear Open World environment. Moreover, that environment is a well-realized, small-scale, pure (i.e. non-fantasy) medieval setting, relating to an actual, historical conflict. However, there's an underlying tension between these systems of game mechanics and the narrative of the main story, which is more of a cutscene simulator and becomes increasingly intrusive as you progress through the main storyline. This is why I'd prefer the developers skip to Kingdom Come: Hussite Wars rather than make a KCD 2: Prince Hal of Skalitz, as the former might focus on extending and improving its game mechanics while reining in excessive use of cutscenes, whereas the latter will likely have a greater focus on story-telling and cutscenes in place in gameplay.did this game age well?
The game should have ended with the second Runt fight, though with Henry retrieving his father's sword from Runt in order to give his story some degree of closure. The parts of the main quest that occur afterward were obviously rushed, dragged out by a poorly-fabricated monastery sequence, a second bandit fortified camp, and a siege for the sake of having a siege.This game is 10/10 until Runt fight (the last one, not the first one), after that it's getting worse and worse. It's sad, cos' it really has potential.
Since Henry's story would have been completed, we could then be looking forward to Kingdom Come II: Hussite Wars, with further refinement of the game's various mechanics.
As you'll find out shortly, the last several stages of the main quest are poorly constructed, starting with the monastery section.
First, they need to make a game set during the Hussite Wars, which will be their next game if they have enough sense to realize that Henry's storyline was never very interesting and could easily have received closure at the end of Kingdom Come: Deliverance via the retrieval of his father's sword.I'd play the siege of Vienna, or even a globe-spanning CoD style game about Suleyman's era, where I get to play missions from both sides.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance already suffered from the writer's insistence on cramming into it as much as possible of a predetermined storyline, with the later sections of the main quest relatively dull, repetitive, linear, and/or buggy. Henry of Skalitz could easily have reached a satisfactory conclusion to his story by regaining his father's sword, from the bandit leader who had stolen it, at Pribyslavitz. Some of the material occurring later in the main quest could have been repurposed as optional side quests occurring earlier. I expect a sequel with Henry returning as protagonist will be even more prolonged and feel redundant.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance should have ended with the battle of Pribyslavitz, in which Henry personally defeats and slays Runt and regains his father's sword. A large portion of the later content, such as the investigation into counterfeit coins, could have been slightly reworked and made available earlier. However, it was a dreadful mistake to tell the playerI've reached the siege, and have put the game on hold for a month or so. In my opinion this shit is going one for too long for its own sake. It should have ended with Vranik, not only it is stupid to give the player more errands on a map that he has scoured many times already but the plot makes no sense :the princess is in another castlethe sword is in another bandit camp, so that the player can be drawn into a buggy monastery quest line, followed by an investigation of the second bandit camp and battle in that camp, only to discover some of the bandits have escaped and captured Talmberg castle resulting in a prolonged siege quest line, among other extraneous content.
Vavra's game-design tendencies might be far superior to the typical tendencies of AAA game design, but they could still be considerably improved. He is the person responsible for KCD's heavy focus on cinematic cutscenes involving a pregenerated character, emulating games such as the The Witcher II/III, even though these detract from RPG immersion and the experience of the player. Similarly, Vavra insisted on prolonging the main plot in order to have as much exposition of the life of Henry as possible, preparing the grounds for at least one sequel, even though this results in the game dragging on and on in the later parts, with repeated anticlimaxes; there's even a second bandit fortress that again fails to fully resolve Henry's situation after their defeat. The true heroes of KCD are those who designed its systems and its historically-grounded Open World setting.In a sense, Vavra wants to do the same thing the industry wants to do. He thinks roleplaying is about "experiencing" the role as if the player was actually living it. The difference between him and other devs is that he is going the right way about it. Codexers may scoff at the idea roleplaying has anything to do with "experiencing" anything, but if one MUST go that road, there's no better way to do it than how Vavra is doing it.
He should even have a few mini Henry's running around.Note: Homosexuality isn't the problem when it is used appropriately. Nobody cared or commented on the butt buddy of the villain in KCD1. Because homosexuality is a reality. However, they're also an exceedingly tiny minority. Making characters bisexual that clearly weren't before is character assassination and pandering.
If they wanted to evolve the characters, Henry should by now be hardened and less naive, not gay.
