E3 2016 is upon us! It's that time of year when we lower our standards and spend hours watching trailers for games we don't care about so we can make fun of them. And what better way to begin than with the Electronic Arts press conference? This year, amidst the Titanfalls and the Battlefields and the EA Sports and the Star Wars, there was another Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer. Andromeda was originally supposed to come out this year, but then it got delayed to Q1 2017 (something which may or may not be related to a mysterious string of departures from developer BioWare Montreal earlier this year).

So here's the trailer, which features all sorts of, uh, intergalactic stuff. There's Makos, Thresher Maws, weird-looking Asari, and what appears to be be the new Mass Effect strong female protagonist™. It seems kind of raw, to be honest. I wonder if the game isn't going to end up getting delayed again.

Besides that, there was also a video about the numerous unannounced Star Wars games EA's various studios are currently working on. Notably, BioWare veteran James Ohlen made an appearance, hinting but not quite confirming that BioWare might someday make another Star Wars game that isn't an expansion for The Old Republic MMO.

Oh, and FIFA 2017 has a Story Mode now. It's got emotionally engaging cinematics. And a dialogue wheel. No, I'm not kidding. Heck, this might end up having more stats than Mass Effect.

Career modes in sports games are actually really fun and can have some fun plots if done well (rags to riches! adventure! friendship! douchy rivals!), EA themselves have done some (NBA street 2/3), but I doubt a soap opera about some predefined kid will be anything but MST3k fuel.

How many stats did ME3 have?
- Seduction
- Emotion
- Sarcasm
- Neck-grabbing
- X-Tremeness

Could be wrong, though. I think they combined the last two into X-Treme neck-grabbing after some beta testing.

You forgot
-The "crouch" perk
-grenades that don't hurt anything
-camera wrangler
-Generic alien meme-ness

It just looks like a cash-in, is anyone surprised though, I doubt it.

It's funny how they all go on about how they are going to bring new experiences and stuff to Star Wars when we all know they will milk R2D2 and Stormtroopers till the end of time. The game is set in the past? Oh, there is an ancient version of R2D2 and the Stormtroopers wear differently colored armors! The game is set after the movies? Oh, R2D2 and Stormtroopers are still around!

Haha, that FIFA trailer... holy shit.

Also, football is a fun sport to play but the bigness of it, and how seriously people treat it, is just retarded.

Honestly, story modes in sport games need to be over the top. I have fond memories and I'm somewhat glad they are making a comeback.

They work better where the teams are small/non-existent, or the player is team captain/manager/whatever.

Focusing on one guy in the sport that's (apparently. I've seen this mentioned as why Americans dislike it but I've got no idea if it's true. I just don't care about any non-shooting sport so I can't tell) already makes it hard for a single MVP to be game changing just seems bound for disaster.
