LANGHORNE, PA – March 27, 2006 – Cinemaware Marquee, an affiliated label of eGames, Inc. (OTCBB:EGAM), today announced its first title, Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators is now shipping for PC. Already a smash hit overseas, this intergalactic, genre-busting masterpiece promises uncompromised gameplay and a depth that’s rarely seen in games.

Developed by Russian studio Elemental Games and produced by 1C Company, Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators is the unexpected critical success of the year. Computer Games Magazine has described the game as “a classic”, scoring it at 4 1/2 out of 5 stars and giving it a coveted "Editor's Choice" award. Previews in the gaming press, based on extensive hands on time with the game, have been universally positive.
“I can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on Space Rangers 2,” said Lars Batista, Vice President of Product Development for eGames. “Elemental Games has delivered a masterpiece, and I’m proud that this game is going to be Cinemaware Marquee’s flagship title. This one is going to blow people away.”

Space Rangers 2 is not easily classifiable. It can be best described as a turn-based RPG giving gamers an unprecedented level of freedom in a vast universe. Combining various genres and styles of gameplay, including third and first person mech battles, RTS elements, classic text adventures, and an arcade style shooter, the game allows the player to determine their own destiny. There are an unlimited number of outcomes to Space Rangers 2 – each player will get a different experience in the face of evil intentions from a sinister race of robots.
Better late than never.

Still no announcement about Starfarce ... and no reply to my e-mail to Cinemaware. Someone be the guinea pig and go out and buy it. Then, let me know if it still has Starfarce.

I will probably pick it up just to see if it has anything different in it. I'll let you know.

Pretty much. I was looking into this one as a potential purchase. Starforce means one loss sale. From forums I've read, it seems the US version *will* have starforce, but I can't seem to find official confirmation. I'll keep an eye on this thread for updates on this.

Do any of the cracks out for it strip out the Starforce stuff? My copy is in the (slower than I had dreamed) Amazon Super Saver mail.

Now that's a value added package

Starforce presence in the US version is confirmed. It came free along with a nifty poster and a copy of SR1.

Starforce = lost sale.

What a shame. At least they got the RPG stuff right. Too bad they use "copy protection" so stupid that people won't buy it.

What's funny about Starforce is, I pirated Space Rangers 2 a few weeks ago (I didn't know there was going to be a US release) and had no problems playing it.

If you people aren't buying the game because of Starforce, you need to kill yourself RIGHT NOW.

It takes, maybe, a couple of minutes to get a no-CD crack and then run the starforce remover and then you're set.

Wah wah wah.
So this means TCancer can't review it?
I could, though I feel it would be a bit redundant. I'm working on two reviews right now so when I'm done with those I'll work on it if I get bored one day.

This is interesting. I think this game has not been released in Canada. I can't find it in any stores even though it's meant to have shipped two days ago. Heck, even though I found it on EBGames.com, the actual EB Games I went to had never heard of it. What's more, while Amazon.com will sell it to you, there's no listing for it on Amazon.ca.

This baffles the shit out of me. Now I need to find an online American retailer that won't gouge me on shipping.

So, okay, knob ... exactly how does that a message to the developer and other developers that Starfarce should not be used, and the paying public won't stand for it?
