Due to the corona pandemic, PAX West has merged with EGX this year to form PAX Online, a week-long digital event running from September 12th to 20th. Once again, demos of upcoming games that were once available only to event-goers can now be played by all of us. The new game on the list this time is This Starry Void, the sci-fi dungeon crawler that we reported about last week.

As before, there will be various events related to these games and others running throughout the week. Follow their Steam pages for the details.

Gamedec seems promising, can another Polish studio deliver on good RPGs?
Solasta seems decent but we've had a tsunami of isometric, turn-based (yes I count Deadfire and Pathfinder in this category) RPGs in last few years, both fantasy and sci-fi. Can this stand out?
Hand of Merlin seems like a The Banner Saga mechanics clone, is the story any good, since only that can differentiate it?
This Starry Void seems bland and uninspired, won't even bother to download the demo.

Haven't most of these demos (or all of them) been released 2 times already?

For example, are the Solasta & Gamedec demos improved content-wise or technical-wise in any way? Or it's the very same demo?

All except This Starry Void. And yeah, same demos. I suppose if there's ever one of these events where there's absolutely nothing new, I won't post about it on the front page.

Yaaawn!

The entire Pax effort on Steam does not include a single exciting game. Not even one. I dunno how they even managed that.
