The graphics look pretty good with all the colors going on, except the main character always looks blocky in every screen while the monsters look good. Prolly cause of all the various looking main characters that can be made?

At least it's not the same old sand shots like the original ones. Although, I think the spell effects are a little out there. I've never understood the fascination with gaudy spell effects in CRPGs, especially when a lot of them are just way, way overdone for what they are. You'd think a magic user wouldn't want attention called to themselves considering how physically weak they are, and many of those spell effects are so large, bright, and attention grabbing that you'd think every monster in a fifty mile radius would be homing in on those things.

I always thought it was like the "expensive car/small penis" compensation. The magic users have a chip on their shoulder about being scrawny little weaklings, and so they compensate for it. In any case, I try to describe spell effects for my P&P group as being fairly spectacularly overblown, and the same with monster deaths.
